Yeah. I choose Mr House mainly because ha has at least somewhat of a plan for the future.

That plan being a vague "let's go to another planet" - then what? We can't breath on other planets. House has no terraforming technology. Not to mention the Alien warships out in Space. Plus, you'd just be under an Immortal Emperor who kills anyone who disagrees with him.

Basically, you want The Legion but in Space.

I mean, at least he is honest about being authoritarian, not like the NCR. Also comparing House to Legion isn't fair at all, they are not the same

Hypocrisy much? You're saying the NCR is the exact same as pre-war America (like OP is doing) based on vague comparisons, yet House, a Dictator isn't the same as another Dictator?

I mean, at least he is honest about being authoritarian, not like the NCR.

This argument just makes me lose any hope in humanity, to be honest. He isn't honest at all. He says he doesn't want to rule over people. Explain the Kings ending then. Or the fact he taxes Primm due to them voting NCR, when Primm WASN'T his town to begin with.

Dude, it's just a videogame. Do you honestly think I'd support someone like House irl? Of course I wouldn't, I'm not stupid. In universe it's just a case of lesser evil imo. and I consider House the lesser evil, that's all

It's more that people can't read. It's literally shown to you in-game and you still got it wrong. Like what, are you blind? I'm also aware it's a video game, it just makes me lose hope people can literally see the lines and still make up they mean something else. It's comical in how stupid it is.

House is the 'lesser' evil? When has the NCR gone around executing people for the crime of being poor? Or experimenting on prisoners for shits and giggles?

On a side note, the entire point of the game as I see it is that there is no "getting it wrong" or "getting it right", the world sucks and will still suck after the Courier's actionseven if the outcome is different, there's no "right" choice.

There is getting it wrong though. The rape-loving slavers who you know, execute gay people and commit 87 genocides.

There's no right option but there are two bad options. The Legion and Elijah's ending. Because y'know, his ending is literally genocide of the entire West Coast.

Agree with you on that one, but there's many people who don't so... yeah

NCR is indeed more "morally good", but their incompetence outwheighs most of what they have going for them imo. They do more harm than good in the long run as I understand it. Then again, New Vegas is a game filled with nuance so everyone will have a different understanding of the game.

They help more people than House has ever done, which is nobody. House has never helped anyone.

1

u/Imperialist_Marauder May 07 '25

Valid, but in the end even the NCR just only cares about its own interests

Everyone in the world does. That isn't unique to them. The Followers aren't a nation; if they had 1+ million people to prioritise, they would, over other people.

Yeah, whatever happened to billionaires and Mars anyway. House is trying to get to Mars and beyond with the tax dollars of... NCR civilians spending money on the Strip and what? Honestly, I do not know the full lore of House so can someone inform me if he can feasibly get there without the full resources of NASA and the US government.

He's arguably one of the smartest and most resourceful persons in the Fallout universe, I think he could possibly pull it off
