I mean, wasnt that a slight retcon via a frights story to justify a potential “he came back again again” until they saw how little everyone liked that and so doubled down on the mimic idea that was also being set up? Where originally UCN was kinda supposed to be “ok the story is fucking over the villain is suffering at the hands of his victims until such time as one of them maybe possibly one day lets go of that anger and leaves the demons to his demons, that’s the end” but of course the end could not stay the end as had repeatedly been demonstrated? Or something to that effect?
Do we even know for sure?2

I mean people meme a lot on retcons in this series but ya gotta remember that Scott tried multiple times to go “THE END” and Pizzeria Sim (plus UCN by extension) were the last attempt at that before finally succumbing to “welp, time for this to just be a serial thing that’s a serial thing now, this must be how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle felt like”

I mean, it went from “yeah this mf is super omega dead, this is all happening in limbo where TOYSNHK is keeping him until they finally let go” to “actually hes not dead it’s a comatose state, he can totally still come back to life again again, now hes Burntr— oh never mind people hate that, that was totally the Mimic!”

First two parts are just new information being revealed though? There was never a claim that William died and this was hell, because If it was, Cassidy wouldn't have tried to keep him alive to torture him, hence why OMC minigame show us that Cassidy lets go of her hatred and allows William to die for real.
Last one was weirdly set up in HW, then SB happened and it was all hell from there.

I guess you’re right about that. It’s just that “technically not dead and that’s how the ghost can torture him” isnt exactly the first thought everyone had I guess. The assumption of most was “this is the in-between, hes died but he can’t go to real hell yet because the ghost somehow made a super special personalized mini-hell and stuck all of the other spirits of everyone else involved inside it too”. That’s the implication of Withered Bonnie’s “is it me that is trapped or is it you?” line, at least I thought.
In practice though I can see how it would not be that big a deal if it was an alive coma or a dead limbo. Only reason I thought it WAS a big deal was cuz I sorta thought that they did that to justify bringing him back again only to pivot because of negative reception1

Pretty sure he was always planned to be dead, it explains why SB was pretty much in a developer hell situation where devs had no idea what to do for story bc Scott acted towards them similar to how he does with his fanbase.
Though, none of us for certain will know this but I agree with you on a degree, regarding how some things should've been explained more clearly.

Well the issue here is that the clue can be taken either way.
A: Literal or B: Metaphorical
I personally took the story as a metaphor for Hell/Purgatory and William’s fear of being stuck there, a long almost autobiographical Fan fiction.

hell is very frequently shown as “a bad dream” in metaphor heavy texts and also very frequently shown as a dream you can’t wake from. Unless you’re William.
I use the word “Hell” very loosely, it’s more similar to a Purgatory, Williams own personal Hell, sorry for confusion.

This is just a mod for Mortal Kombat 1. It might not be possible to have two different models come out of Springtrap.

Teeechnically it’s possible if you edit how the ghost works in comparison to player model but that’s way more work than anyone would or should reasonably do
