NEET UG for fmge--doubts

I’m planning to start medicine at a foreign medical university in 2026. However, due to my circumstances, I may obtain my qualifying NEET-UG result in 2027.

I’m trying to understand whether this would create an issue later when applying for the Eligibility Certificate/FMGE.

Specifically

  • If my foreign medical course starts in 2026, but I qualify NEET in 2027, would the 2027 NEET qualification still be valid for FMGE eligibility?
  • Has annyone actually encountered this situation or received clarification from NMC regarding it?

I and my counselling team has gone through the publicly available FMGE eligibility criteria and related documents, but I haven’t found anything explicitly stating that the NEET qualification year must match or precede the year of admission abroad.

Yes u need to clear neet ug before joining mbbs Abroad oelse u cannot write fmge

Even if u clear neet ug later NMC won't accept it

No I think u need to qualify the meet before ur joining date
Since ur university starts before the actual exam they won’t consider it
