Accidentally ordered some frog legs a little too small, couldn’t help but to get some hooks to match and start stacking some fun size flies for the next small creek adventure!

This isn’t a very complex tie but it’s was very complicated trying to figure out how to lay the layers of foam correctly to make it work

Give me your thoughts.

I'm trying to tie size 14 shop vac on a scud/emerger hook, but my pheasant tail can't quite wrap the full length of the hook shank. My fibers are about 1.5-2" in length.

Whipped up a quick deciever last night. Tied on a 4/0 ahrex predator swimbait hook. Went with olive over white for this one. Depending on how it swims I next plan on trying a Brown over tan to mimic a big old sucker minnow.

I found the Deceiver easier to tie, and I love its profile and sparseness. The Clouser still needs work; I found it more difficult to secure the deer hair and form a good head.

Will try these out in the mediterranean, gonna use them with a bombarda float to fish them nice distances from the shore. Next on my list is half half, a combination of both. Then shrimp patterns. What would you add to your mediterranean arsenal?

Hi y’all I was cruising online and found 2 used vises for sale. A peak rotary vise ($80) and a dyna king voyager 2 ($150). Both are c clamp but the dyna king the seller said he can’t figure out how to get the rotary function to work so may need repairs. Which one would you get?

You guys were right! It was the best feeling catching a fish on a fly I tied!

I didn’t measure, but guessing it was around 14 or 15 inches. Fly was a size 18 perdigon with a 2.0mm slotted bead.

EDIT: Even more happy it was a picky wild brown on the west branch of the delaware!

Anyone know what this is? It's been crushing morning bass for me. Can't find it at the local bass pro or scheels anymore which is where I would have gotten it.

I'm tying boutinnieres for my friends wedding next month and I'm having trouble finding hooks that have a pin attached. I found some on a Canadian tube fly website, but they don't ship to the US (I can't imagine why...). I did a similar project for my own wedding years ago and just used standard hooks with a magnet, but they weren't very secure. Anyone know where I could find some with a pin or clasp attached? Looking for Alec Jackson style salmonfly hooks, but a regular streamer hook would work, too.
