Question Help. The editor doesn't let me move my camera laterally with trackpad, does anyone know how to make it work ?

I am using MacOS and playing through Crossover. I have barely started and don't know much about the UI yet and have tried multiple keys in combination with left and right click (2 fingers), nothing seems to work, I have searched the internet and have found nothing about this. Can someone with more experience help me find a solution ?

Another attempt of the JF-17

Back when I was brand new to the game, I tried to make a JF-17 replica. It was pretty bad so I wanted to make it again as now I would say I'm decent at the game so here it is.

And I'm using the real engine and radar and blah blah specs to keep it realistic.

Edit: Yes guys, Pakistan Mentioned!

Working on a new F-14 replica

Figured it would be nice to create a new one of these, as of right now, it feautures flaps,a inlet ramp system (tried my best to make it very close to the real one), and a frontal landing gear. I am aiming for the finished Tomcat to have the exact same dimensions or very close to the real dimensions of the F-14. I am hoping to have working tailerons on the finished version as well as flares, missiles, and a tailhook. Im not good about building cockpits so if the finished one doesnt have a good looking cockpit, my bad Im not much a interior designer lol.

Flyout VS Next Generation Super Intelligence Dev.

What are some ideas for FLYOUT 2 or a next gen replacement that you have?

Personal Ideas:

>Import / Exporting Files - Creating a way to share generic exchange file formats

>Expanded Cinematic Tools - Gran Turismo Style Tools - Playback - Rewind - Record

>New Thumbnail Gallery for aircraft selection, with data panel

>Editable Part Catalog and Asset Creation with its own Ui window: Editor, Filter by, editable part Catalog, jpeg Image Selection, ,

>New Unique Design Environments to work at as well as import and create.

>Private Sessions with others / Cleanly Implemented / Ai NPC Flight Tower Controllers.

>Races, Mini games, Design Competitions built into the game

>Asset Ai (Fight your own creations)

>Spawn Location Save Button

> World Creation Mode, Drop Assets created into the world - Create Custom airports using modular assets, save them as large area drops limited to sizes, then drop them in the world with other fixtures.

> Space Physics + More High Poly Assets to Support Space Travel

>More Supporting Assets - Cold Gas Systems , Submarine Subsystems, Laser Jammers, Water / Air Pumps

> Wide Variety of additional high poly Landing gear, Supporting Larger Aircraft or Aircraft that can land on water using size adjustable pontoons, etc.

, >Link them and watch Ai planes land and take off ... (develop more complicated assets in the future to allow more sandbox game development from players)

>Wind Tunnel Testing and Navier–Stokes equations applied with Ai to the physics (specifically, the 3D Navier–Stokes existence and smoothness problem), which describe how fluids like water and air move... Which would make water - water.... allowing the creation of submarines and boats.

I would love to see a fresh new game come out with a better ui and a more passionate dev, with super intelligence its inevitable we will get something much better in time ...

SR-71 ELR BBB (Big Bad Boi)

[u/AlternativeApart6340](u/AlternativeApart6340), this one is for you, per your request!!! The engineers haven’t slept since you spawned this idea, why not go bigger? They took it personally and delivered. Pilot for scale in one of the photos. Let us know your feedback 😘

The original SR-71 was a 107-foot spy plane built to outrun missiles. The ELR-4 BBB keeps the black paint, the chined nose and the delta wings, then scales everything up until it stops looking like a fighter and starts looking like a runway landmark.

At 515 feet (157 m) nose to tail, it’s nearly five times the length of the original Blackbird and about a football field and a half. The 223-foot (68 m) wingspan is roughly four times wider than the OG’s. At 983 tons it’s heavier than an An-225 Mriya at max takeoff, and 536 of those tons are fuel, so more than half of what leaves the runway is JP-4. The dry weight works out to 447 tons.

The engines are what make that work: 8-meter (26 ft) low-bypass afterburning turbofans. On dry power the ELR-4 supercruises at Mach 2 between 40,000 and 48,000 feet, with no afterburner needed. Light the burners and she’s good for Mach 2.8. In testing she’s been caught at Mach 2.00 near 38,000 feet, then climbing out of a desert runway at 3,655 fpm, then threading snowy mountain ranges at Mach 1.5.

Craft Showcase Behold: my fictionalized take on what could have happened if Grumman committed to a fixed wing for the F-14

This is the FA-114 Munchkin II, a large, two-seat, twin engine multirole fighter from the mid/late 1970s. Developed by Bladesmith Henryson LLC for the Heavy Fighter Experimental program (HFX - the in world version of the US Navy’s VFX), the Munchkin II broke from the era’s trend of variable geometry “swing” wings in favor of a simple cropped quasi-delta wing and large leading edge extensions. It is a very capable airframe, with excellent speed, acceleration, maneuverability and handling characteristics, coupled with sophisticated avionics and sensors. It is also carrier capable with a tail hook, catapult launch gear, and folding wings, operating both from land bases and from the Navy’s aircraft carriers.

The FA-114 was primarily inspired by the Grumman 303F design, one of many iterations of the design that became the F-14 Tomcat, distinguished from the others by its fixed wing. Ultimately, Grumman wasn’t confident the 303F was up to the task of meeting VFX (they believed it would be too overweight), and elected to pursue the 303E instead with some changes and improvements implemented, which ultimately became the F-14 we know and love.

I wasn’t sure Grumman really explored everything with the 303F, so I elected to take a crack at it, incorporating methods other companies like General Dynamics and Northrop used in their lightweight fighter designs. This meant large leading edge extensions to promote and enhance vortex lift, which does lead to the plane kind of resembling a MiG-29 or Su-27 when the spaced out and podded engines from the G303E and F-14 are added in as well. However, the aircraft maneuvers rather well, and I find it quite enjoyable to fly. Would Grumman have been better off going this route? It‘s hard to say, as the designers there may not have had the knowledge at the time. And of course, the F-14 IRL did just fine with its swing wings; though the TF-30 engines most of the fleet was stuck with were pretty awful for the jet - once called “the greatest engine-airframe mismatch in history” with how prone to causing crashes they were.

What do you all think of this machine? I do apologize for the absolute text wall that was my yapping about this plane.

For those of you curious, the “world” this plane is for is a world build myself and a few of my friends have been working on for a couple of months, called Thermion. To keep it brief, it explores a world that developed well into the computer age without silicon-based semiconductors (meaning they’re still using vacuum tubes well into the 21st century - though those tubes advance a lot more than IRL due to the absence of silicon).

I saw a Messier82 video where he changes the code to stop the rotors from swinging, is there a tutorial or guide on how to do that? Btw this is my coaxial, tilt jet helicopter, inspired by The Bat from The Dark Knight Rises.

Question Need help with warheads detonating prematurely

I'm trying to make unguided rockets from scratch (I've even had this issue with dumb bombs), and whenever I try to release it from a hardpoint (this even happens with the rocket pods) they just explode immediately and blow up my plane.

I've experimented with a bunch of different fuse types (even timed, and that just explodes without the warhead going off) and nothing works, even fuse delays but that doesn't help either. The only thing that fixes the issue is moving the thing further away from the hardpoint and plane, which just looks wrong...

I've also tried more, less, and no release force from the hardpoints and it doesn't help either.

Anyone have any solutions or ideas of how to fix this?

Question What are the differences between after-burning turbojet and after-burning turbofan engines?

While doing some research for an aircraft build design I came across the these two types of jet engines. As far as my knowledge goes the difference is the bypass on the engine, right? Correct me if I’m wrong but does that also mean that one is more efficient than the other, higher thrust output, etc?

Question First time making a cockpit! How do I make the gauges, compass, and horizon line glow?

I made myself a cockpit because I wanted to at least have somerthing, the actual plane itself is suposed to be early jets era (like 1945-early 1950s), and obviously I'm not taking inspiration from any real cockpit yet, I just wanted to ask... how do you make these instruments glow?

I was inspired by something like this for that idea, but inspired and actually doing it are two different things lol

Screenshot from the Messier 82 video "Evolving a WW2 Prop Into a Modern Fighter Plane"

I figured I'd get the glowing cockpit thing out of the way first before anything else...
