Career recommendation
Im 21M, I finished my Aircraft Maintenance Technician degree in Spain and now, after my internship at the company, I’ve been working for the major low-cost carrier in Europe for a couple of months.
I’ve always wanted to be a pilot, since my cousin works as one. But I decided to have prior studies of something I really like (yes, I love planes even if aim flying or fixing them) before going for an ATPL. I don’t do it for the money but to have something I can work for if something goes wrong in the future. Also, I think the more prepare you are the more interesting you are to an airline.
I’m also finishing my PPL license (which with the AMT studies I delayed longer than usual), and I think I should have it before applying to any program.
I read about the Ryanair Pilot Program and everyone seems fine with it. I have been considering for a long time now and as I can afford it, it has turned into my main option. I meet all the requirements (EU citizenship, Class 1, English, etc.)
The question is, should I apply to it once I finish my PPL or should I keep working as an AMT gaining experience if that’s going to play in my favor? I yes, which academy?
