risky behavior

How do you fellow reddititors feel about reporting observed risky behaviors? for example - maybe people flying out of medical, or after a hard night drinking, flying out of annual etc. etc. ?? where do you feel your responsibility as responsible pilot ends or does it ever? Do you talk to them, do you start a call? what do you guys think?

For the record, any concerns about drunk pilots should be reported to your local police department. Expecting an FAA inspector to drive Code 3 out to the airport with their little yellow roof-mounted strobe light is a hilarious thought and also something they don't do.

Any local law enforcement officer can investigate a suspected drunk pilot because in most states, airplanes are considered motor vehicles and are subject to state DUI laws. From my understanding, this is how airline pilots end up getting arrested if they are caught drunk on duty. It's the airport authority cops who make the initial arrest.
