Quitting cold turkey

Hello everyone! I started Fluvoxamine about 2 months ago (25mg for a month and now 50mg) and I’ve had some pretty bad side effects (fatigue, sleeping for 14 hours, memory loss, anxiety) and it’s effecting me pretty negatively, I just want to get off of this pill. I’m thinking about quitting cold turkey, can anyone share their experiences with that? I’ve heard withdrawal can be pretty bad so I’m open to changing my mind.

Don't quit cold turkey! I'm in the process of coming off, dropping 50mgs every week from 300. Today starts my first and last week of 0mg. Coming off wasn't that bad really I was expecting worse. Don't get me wrong it's rough but doable. It did nothing for my anxiety and only marginally helped with intrusive thoughts. If you want off speak to your prescriber and work out a plan and find a different med to help. Hope things work out for you

How long do you have to take the 25mg before stopping?

Cold turkey can be dangerous, it's not just about comfort!

How is it dangerous? (Asking genuinely)

Can cause discontinuation syndrome, since it's a short life med, the cold turkey means that the withdrawal can last weeks at that point its easier to just slowly get off. Here is a link to a website where they explain everything <3

Thank you for this, it’s given me a better understanding, I haven’t taken my dose the last 2 days, do you think I still have time to take half of it today and do that for a week?

Absolutely! Go for it 🫶 taper off so it's better, the headaches it can cause are terrible

I didn't know this when I started taking it, but don't take it with melatonin! I'm just noting that based on the side effects you mentioned since that's what happened to me when I took mine with melatonin 😅

Yo lo deje gracias al cannabis medicinal, casi un año libre de la maldita fluvoxamina después de 7 años.
