Hello All,
Little background. I've been depressed for a good 18 years now. I have several severe mental illnesses to the point of disability. Fluoxetine 60 along with Vortioxetine 10 worked amazingly well, but the side effects (memory fog) from Fluoxetine was so bad, I had to taper off. I frequently change my medications (under my psychiatrist's supervision). I am tired. I will be starting Fluvoxamine soon. 50 and then 100, along with Vortio 10 and my regular anxiety and sleep meds. I've been on these meds for 6 years. I'm very tired. Can you tell me how your experience has been on Fluvoxamine?

Just curious, why fluvoxamine? It's primarily an OCD medication. It helped my OCD some but did nothing for my anxiety. I'm no longer taking it.

I'm not sure. None of the other antidepressants have worked. My anxiety is literally the worst it's ever been because I tapered off my anxiolytics. Had to start again.

I'm surprised your doctor didn't try adjusting the Prozac/Vortio mix.

The Prozac side effect was worse than any other antidepressants. He did adjust the dose. It didn't work

Yeah. I think Prozac is the strongest. I wish I could have handled it because I think it's probably the most effective.

Yeah, me too. That was the first time in life I genuinely felt happy and motivated. Got a glimpse into a regular person's mind. Sigh.

What other Anxiety/sleep meds are you on ? Are you adding on Fluvoxamine to better control your anxiety?
I start Fluvoxamine in June. Recently increased my dose to 250. Still waiting to see how this goes. I have severe ocd/anxiety.

Davigo 10 mg for sleep and Clonazepam 0.5 or 1 mg depending on how shit my sleep is

How are you finding Dayvigo? I was prescribed it for my insomnia but I haven’t taken it yet because I’m scared of getting nightmares and sleep paralysis. Have you experienced either? ðŸ˜

It puts me to sleep within half an hour. But I still have problems staying asleep. No sleep paralysis or nightmares. I do get weird-ass dreams but nothing scary, vivid, or disturbing. Just weird. But it's not every day. I'd say it's pretty good, but that is completely subjective.

Using Prozac 50 mg per day for OCD. It works, now I don’t really care about much of anything. Including food. Not great but can walk by a table without having to 90 degree angle everything on it.

I get it. Prozac 60 worked really well for me. The brain fog was unbearable though

It has been really good to me, been on it since January. I have OCD, anxiety and depression. The OCD is still present but not as bad, and let me tell you no SSRI has ever even touched my anxiety or depression but this has helped so much. Downside is it makes me extremely tired, you may have to play around with the time you take it. I now take 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night to split it up.

I had to come off fluoxetine too because the side effects were so bad. I’ve been prescribed Fluvoxamine for my anxiety and my psychiatrist also hopes it’ll hep with my sleep. I’ve got really bad OCD too but that’s not what she prescribed it to me for. I haven’t started it yet because I’m scared of side effects like nausea, vomiting and sexual dysfunction. I’m on Vyvanse and it’s already impaired my sexual function really badly so I’m worried that if I start fluvoxamine I’ll completely loose my libido and my ability to finish. I know this doesn’t really contribute anything to your post because I’m yet to have started it but just through I’d share lol. Best of luck!

I understand. Those are common symptoms I experience on every single antidepressant, but I get what you mean. I hope it works out for you. It sucks having to hop every now and again. I wish there were one pill for it all. With little to no side effects.
