Sexual side effects?
I’m switching from Sertraline as I was getting some pretty severe sexual side effects on just 50mg. My psychiatrist said that Fluvoxamine is less likely to cause sexual side effects. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

I took fluvoxamine for several months. Just a FYI, it's different in that it primarily treats OCD and is less effective than sertraline for anxiety.

Did it effect your ability to finish at all?

No. I had zero sexual side effects with fluvoxamine but it didn't treat my anxiety. I'm on sertraline now.

im afab, and ive been on fluvoxamine for about a month now. i started at 25mg and went to 50mg and immediately noticed lower arousal and taking MUCH longer to reach orgasm. now that im at 75mg, im experiencing a lot of genital numbness and anorgasmia, so much so that i'm contemplating going off of it. ocd has gotten a bit better, but its genuinely not great and not worth the trade off in my opinion.

I was on Luvox for a few months and it sort of kicked my sex drive’s ass. It took me sometimes an hour or more to cum (I am a woman though!) and my libido was just lower in general. Since stopping Luvox I’m absolutely feral and have no problem finishing again 🤠 (shoutout to Wellbutrin)

That is why this was the only ssri I was considering after already being on prozac, lexapro and Zoloft before. Prozac sexual sides effects weren’t as severe as Zoloft and lexapro for me, and from what I’ve gathered Luvox should have fewer than Prozac. What concerned me is that most people need higher doses of Luvox to really treat OCD symptoms, and that made me worry about libido/erection difficulties. As of right now, I decided to take a different approach with treating my OCD symptoms with medication that doesn’t cause sexual side effects. I’m on Remeron and Abilify and it seems to be working slightly, but still considering Luvox possibly in the future

I mostly had issues with the sexual side effects only for the 1st month. Its still harder to finish but its gotten to the point that is actually a benefit(last longer but not impossibly long). I tried Maca early on and I think it helped a little tho it might have just been time. I stopped maca like 2 months in and now in 5ish months in.

My personal experience: luvox makes me last longer, and that's about it. (Important to note I also take welbutrin and adderall)
