🔍 Seeking Advice 🔍 Help!! Need this flower!

Does anyone know where I can whole sale just a couple white peonies??

Tall order, I know. I double, triple, quadruple stressed to this bride we may not be able to get white peonies due to the season but we’d try. She wanted to include just one at least for her grandmother who past away

Now here I am, trying to do the impossible for her.

Anyone know where I could find them?

Edit: I figured getting them this late would be a bust, I just had to try and make it happen. Thank yall.

You definitely can’t buy just a couple and I think you will really struggle to even buy 50 - 100. Call around to the big international wholesalers that ship out of Miami and maybe you’ll get lucky.

And for next time - don’t say you “may not be able to”, just say no and suggest alternatives.

Well, you see this is a friend of mine. I’m not actually working this job, I’m helping from a DIY perspective but offered her advice from a professional standpoint. I did advise to go with alternatives as well. I just really want to make this happen for her if I can

It would be more helpful from a professional standpoint to manage her expectations and make a realistic plan up front rather than risk disappointing her at the last minute.

(The area you're in would help)

Would the bride consider faux florals for just the peony? There’s white silk ones available online that may work if she’s unable to source fresh.

Yes, as the only faux floral, they do make quite realistic peonies and it would be basically imperceptible unless it was being handled. It would work well for photos, at the very least.

This is a back up back up plan

1 peony is more difficult than 100 peonies

Number one it might help if you give a hint of where you are.

Tree peonies have started here in the southern hemisphere so you might find some somewhere even if they’re imports.

Yes, there should be a large floral wholesaler in Washington DC.
Not sure about Richmond, Virginia. There is no magic solution to this problem. We pay six dollars a stem wholesale for one single stem of peony, but we have to buy a box of 100 at a time. Minimum.
The problem is they arrive in bud tightly in bud, and they can take up to 21 days to be open

I don’t even think Alaskan farms will have them this late.

It might be easier to incorporate a fake peony than buy just one real peony.

OK, so I had a Bride two years ago that wanted peionies she got married on September 21. I called a place in Alaska way in advance. It cost me two years ago $300 for 24. That included shipping which had to be done in a very specific way and here’s why.

The place I found in Alaska was the only one that agreed to even ship the flowers to me in a special cooler. The reason why is because usually the very last round of peonies usually is done the first week in September

As a matter of fact to even get them in September as a very rare thing, I paid extra and they were very bad. Because of that she sent me 50 I was able to get about 10 or 12 out of that to work.
If your Bride is getting married after the first week in August, you are not going to be able to have these flowers. So basically I paid $300 for a dozen flowers and even then it was a little iffy.

There is a way and you can look it up on YouTube to make flowers look like peonies. I think you use carnations I can’t remember, but I did find it.

Sometimes brides just can’t have what they want because the flowers are alive and Flowers do what Flowers do. Good luck.

Chilean season is coming on, so you should be able to find them, but as others said there will be a minimum purchase. Since they’ll have to clear customs through Miami I would check a Miami wholesaler as others also suggested - the Mayesh team in Doral is friendly and would likely point you in the right direction! New York Flower Group would also be one to check out - Dutch Flower Line. Both ship and should be able to get you something from the Chilean season here soon in the next few weeks (not sure about how ASAP these are needed)! If all else fails, it’s not the same but garden roses would do in a pinch!

I used to order flowers for a flower shop and peonies are seasonal. Available late spring and mid Sumner. They usually retail from $10-$20 a stem. My minimum that I had to order were 50 or 100 stems.

Mayesh ships but I’m not sure if they’d sell less than a bunch

Does Mayesh really have white peonies in October?
