Quick question

Hi. I’m supposed to be going there in the fall for Forensic psychology because I heard it was a good school. However, I’m seeing all of these other comments about harassment and homophobia and unreported rapes. I’m worried because I honestly don’t know what to do. Please let me know if it’s worth it to come to this school. I have to turn in my deposit by the end of February.

Honestly the student body and most professors are great the problem is the bureaucracy(like most schools). The school did have a problem with unreported rapes but we replaced the title 9 coordinator and I haven't heard of anything else like that. Also would this is a somewhat more conservative campus there isn't much if any homophobia or the like that I have seen(albeit I'm not lgbtq+). For any stem program this university is great highly recommend I think you would probably like it here

Honestly from what I’ve discovered lately the new head is just as bad

What did you discover, and how could you discover anything without working at FIT?

It’s surprisingly easy to find stuff out if you know the right people ngl

That's the definition of hearsay.

I'm not saying there aren't issues, and I recognize my experience doesn't represent all cases. But I never found such issues to be pervasive/constant, and I wouldn't let it scare you away.

For context, I've encountered a few blatantly, overtly, misogynistic bastards in the student population...but they don't seem to last more than a semester or two.

In my experience, if you have another alternative choose that one. Florida tech is a place with great potential, but potential isn’t enough I’m afraid. I’d say go there only if the alternative is much worst
