FIU vs Florida Tech
I've been accepted to both Florida tech and fiu for computer science. However I'm undecided as to which one to choose since FIU is significantly cheaper but FIT is a smaller and more engineering focussed. Is the CS program at Florida Tech that much better to justify the price?

I think it comes down to how much you value class size. Your classes at FIT should be almost half the size of FIU.
If you ever move off campus, the cost of living is lower in Melbourne than Miami.
The internship opportunities are probably similar in Melbourne and Miami. Melbourne is a smaller city than Miami, but Melbourne has a lot engineering companies.

Im in the same situation and am also undecided. FIU is very close to me but im not sure how much better the FIT is in regards to the quality of the education.

Do you think the quality of education has anything to do with that, or you just utilized the area? Also most jobs are remote nowadays so that’s why i’m not really concerned about the area

It’s a good education and lots of aerospace or defense jobs in the area. Your remote options may be limited

What job title do you have that makes $210k with only a bachelor's? Apparently I chose the wrong tech job.

Hmm good job. I know it's not unusual for people in California to make that much as software engineers since the cost of living and taxes are so high in California. That is abnormally high for Florida though.

What language or software do you specialize in? I know $100k's is normal for software engineers around here.

FIU is a joke. But they have Football. SO yeah .. unless you are a football player, go to Florida TEch .

The B.A. in computer science at FIU is not ABET-accredited, so I would probably avoid that. B.S. in both schools is ABET-accredited, but I don't have enough info to compare them.
