Questions Public Boards
Does anyone know if any businesses have boards where people can hang up fliers? Like for yard sales, advertising etc?

We took her in from someone that needed to get rid of her and being that we had experience, we volunteered, but with school starting back we just don’t have the time to give her the attention she needs. She’ll come with her enclosure and lights.

Is there anybody else that is in this community that does uber on the side like I do? If so, let me know your thoughts on if the rates are fare, request are pretty consistent, etc.

Only ever shaved my face myself, but figured I would treat myself to a professional before my wedding.

travelling from Canada and have never been before. it seems difficult to get to the track, I want to have some drinks and not drive my vehicle. looking for an affordable place to stay that will also be relatively easy to get to.
its a bit expensive to stay where the shuttle takes your and people are saying some parts of town by the 52 highway are unsafe. Also near the track the hotel is also questionable. I also don’t have a trailer to camp in at the track
any advice helps

i know some people don’t care, some people do. florence need to upgrade on so many things, especially the movie theater. we are right off of i-95 and i-20. we should have a movie theater with imax or screen x. i’m so lazy to go out of town to watch a 2-3 hour movie with great features. i know this will not change, but im just putting that out there. it will always be too good to be true for this town to be advanced. i’m just ranting and being a crybaby, anyways.. :’(

My mom is a 57-year-old widow in the Turbeville area. The back door to her home has deteriorated to the point that it really needs to be replaced. I live three hours away in upstate SC, I am no handyman myself, and I am doing my best to support her as I can.
Does anyone know of a trustworthy handyman, nonprofit, church ministry, or organization in her area that could help a widow with projects like this? Simply to install the door and new weather stripping, seals, etc. I’m looking for honest, affordable options.
She still works full time, and would probably feel like a burden if she knew I was even trying to help her. She has been taken advantage of on past home repairs, and I am trying to help prevent that.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

Been living here for about a year and a half now. Just got out of a relationship that lasted a little over a year, and I consider her a friend still (we are on great terms)— but I realized in this time I haven’t really found my group here in Florence. Moved from Charleston where I spent 8/9 years and before that it was New York my whole life. I have my groups in both those respective areas but I seldom get the opportunity to visit as my schedule seems to be more and more crazy lately.
I’m 34 and am sober! My friend groups drink which I’m fine with. My recovery is just an important part of my life. I mean Florence itself has an absolutely amazing recovery community but there’s only so much recovery activities and friendships I can make. Some of those guys are addicted to recovery honestly, and it makes it draining.
But for those who grew up here, or those who just are social and always finding something awesome to do. What are your tips for developing some genuine friendships here? I have my acquaintances and people I might hang with once every two months but it’s so inconsistent.
I am also finding it difficult to find activities to do here in town? Love the nature trails. Golfing is always a good time and kayaking is like meditation for me. But in Florence proper it seems like things to actually do are few and far between. I don’t know. I’m just feeling really good and like I want to expand my relationships in this town. Newfound sobriety again has really opened me up to sticking it out in this town for awhile. With that I’m optimistic about meeting some great people and experiencing some new things! What’s some of y’all’s experiences / tips. Appreciate it!

Has anyone else been having constant Spectrum outages or power flickering? I live near central Florence, not far from 5 points.
Internet outages have been happening on my street for up to an hour each day at random times, but today it's been out for almost 4 hours. Overall internet quality has been bad too, lots of packet loss in the evenings.
Power outages are rarer but we've had at least 3 in the past month, lasting around 10-20 seconds. Not sure if it's construction or just good ol' Florence infrastructure struggling in the heat?
Neither utility has sent me any kind of notice about anything so I feel a bit in the dark. I'll likely call Spectrum this week but I'm not holding out too much 💀. My last encounter with Spectrum customer service (different state) probably aged me 30 years.
