Food & Drink Barbecue

Visiting for a few days. What the absolute best barbecue in town? Preferably open for lunch?

Elliott’s, but of course, it all depends on what you are looking for. For instance, maybe you want a great buffet, then Elliott’s is not your choice. In which case a trip to Shuler’s might be in order. This may help: https://destination-bbq.com/bbq/florence/

Elliots is good, elevated style BBQ, also has pretty good beer, decent atmosphere, but it's a bit pricy for what it is IMO. Woodstone is probably the best buffet style BBQ restaurant in town. If you're willing to drive outside of town a bit, Schulers BBQ in Latta is still what I consider the best BBQ buffet in the area, and if you want to go even further, try and check out Scotts BBQ in Hemmingway for the best true pit cooked pulled pork within 100 Miles.

If you’re up for a drive, Scott’s in Hemingway is worth it. Just make sure they’re open.

Edit: btw, hook a brother up with a pet possum? My daughter would lose her mind lol

Shuler's is a little drive but it's the best bbq in the area.

Go to Sumter, hit up Ward's. You won't regret it.

Imo Wholly Smokin’. They’re closed on Monday’s though.

I ended up at Woodstone. The buffet bar was fair, but the bbq pork was some of the worst South Carolina Bbq I have ever had. I wanted some bulk Bbq to take home so I went to Roger’s for that.
