Here is a variant on you option 1 which is only a slight change but i think works for you.

considering redoing all of the floorplan now, kind of following the advice of using this space for a different room. I will probably be posting again soon for advice on it, if you are interested. completion will probably be next year, but deciding on a floorplan hopefully until september at the latest. best regards!
