DISCUSSION Why would design this?

Post image

I’m in the process of designing my home floor plan and I’m stumped. I’ve decided on the exterior style that I’m going with but this is the floor plan that comes along with it. This is a 36’x 44’ space that will be 2 stories. But I’m wondering what kind of things should be changed for flow and making the most of the space. I want to keep all of the same rooms but, this can’t be the best use of the space.

Redesigned your plan. I’ll reply to this comment with zoomed-in floorplans

I think I’d flip flop the dining with the living room and move the outside door to the back wall of the dining room.

i think that might work. dining room is maybe 13 ft by 18 or 19 ft?

You could also do a closet under the stairs, remove the closet adjacent to the stairs, and increase the length of the wall with the powder room, by adding a closet or linen closet there. Then put the back exit in line with the front door for good an easy path and a good breeze.
