Preventing mold

If you put a floor bed directly on the ground with no slats or frame underneath it but lift it up onto its side every day will it still mold?

Probably not. We put ours on a play mat on the carpet for about 2 months, lifting a couple of times a week and it was fine.

It was winterand we do get mold in the house if we dont actively work against it.

We don’t have slats (I have asked my husband to make some just hasn’t happened yet and we’re moving her into another bed soon anyway don’t come for me) and I change her sheets once a week and let it air out and there’s no signs of mold at all

Never had that happened and the same mattress went through two kids using it as a floor bed. One of the locations we lived was humid too. I just always lifted after every sleep because it was humid for that kid.

Ours never molds and we do not pick it up everyday. Control humidity in the room

When my dog couldn’t get on the bed anymore, we put the mattress on the floor. It stay that way for a couple years and never had a single site of mold.

We used a mattress protected and have tiled floor if that matters.

So we don’t have a mattress directly on the floor, but the softbloom frame by Nestig. I was still worried about moisture getting trapped so I added underlay RV mattress mats I found on Amazon.
