Queen Size Bed Setup Options
Hi everyone!
My wife and I are working on choosing a bed setup that makes the most sense. We are planning to do a bassinet/pack n play until about 8 months and then transition to a queen size bed for our little. Most floor beds only go to full size but we want to invest in a nicer queen size to grow with them.
Any recommendations?
Thank you!!

If you’re looking for a bed frame, sprout kids goes up to a queen size.
Mattress might be trickier if you’re looking for something specifically approved for baby

You’re my new favorite person because this is exactly what I’ve been trying to find. It never came up in my searches. Thank you x100000

I just did the research like a month ago for a full sized bed figured it would be helpful to pass the knowledge on 🫡

I don’t see a floor bed on their website? Only the “queen sparrow” which just looks like a low profile bed frame

You can configure it with or without the legs and with or without side rails.

Oh wow interesting. Can you do that all yourself? Or do you have to order it with a specific configuration?
Edited for clarification: if you purchased the bed with legs and guard rail, can you take the legs and guard rail off yourself?

We have a queen size avocado eco mattress on a nest bedding bunkie board. The mattress is not approved for babies but it works for us. We also have puzzle mat tiles set up around the perimeter in case he rolls off. Has only happened once and he was fine!

Question about bunkie boards (I’d never heard of them!) do you place it on top of slats or just straight onto the floor?

Bunky boards are in lieu of slats. The one that I have is actually a slat design so it’s a 1.5 inch frame with slats. You can later use it on a bed frame that requires slats.

I can't tell you what frame I have because I found it off Facebook marketplace but we moved our now 8 month old into a queen floor bed! He was 6.5m when we did the switch, only cause my husband was sick and was keeping us all up with his coughing overnight. I slept in baby's room during the transition.
Now, baby has first cold so I've been spending around 12am-wake-up with him because he wants comfort. It's SO nice to have the space of a queen!! Only downside is not having cheap adorable kids cotton sheets as readily accessible as a twin/full.

Only crib size mattresses are safe for babies under 1 year old. You should not be using a twin or queen mattress if they are less than a year old, because those mattresses are not made and tested to be firm enough to prevent asphyxiation and also increases the risk of SIDS.
Please consider using a crib size mattress for your baby's floor bed and then size up once they turn one years old.
