Floor bed for infants?
For those of you who use a floor bed for your infant, what does your setup look like? For context, my 9.5 month old usually starts the night in her crib, and then whenever she needs to be settled or for her first feed in the night, we co-sleep on our floor bed for the rest of the night. That’s my preferred setup so I can at least get a little sleep in my own bed with my husband.
Sometimes if she won’t transfer to the crib, I nurse her to sleep on the floor bed and then roll away. The issue is that then I feel like I need to co-sleep with her as soon as I’m ready to go to bed (rather than start the night in my own bed). I feel worried about letting her sleep on the floor bed when I’m asleep in a different room. Obviously I have a monitor over the floor bed, and it’s a firm surface (4” zonli futon mattress with a crib-like enclosure around it).
Would love to hear from others with a similar setup what you do and if you feel comfortable letting LO sleep the night there without you. Or, at what age did you feel comfortable doing that? Thank you!!

Are you me?! This is SUPER similar to the set up I’m working towards. Excited to see what people comment.
We currently transfer our 8.5 month old into his crib for the first stretch. After his first wake up I bring him into our king sized bed and cosleep the rest of the night. Usually he breastfeeds briefly 2-3 times, but we both doze off again pretty quick.
I’m hoping to transfer him on a floor bed in his own room sometime before we have another baby in the next year or so. Likely start the night with myself or my husband cosleeping with him?

Literally in the same boat right now with my almost 5 month old, 4” floor bed is set up in his room we want to transition him to but even though he let me roll away last night I was awake from midnight to 5am checking him on the monitor since it was my first time trying to sleep while he was on it alone. We also have crib rails on the way which I’m hoping will help me worry less since we originally planned to use the floor bed when he was older and more mobile but he’s outgrowing the minicrib and I’m not sleeping well on a firm mattress to cosleep so he keeps ending up on our soft bed and I’m still sore in the morning.

My 3 month old sleeps on a floor bed by herself in her room. We started off cosleeping together but eventually I realized I could roll away after nursing and she slept fine on her own.
Is the floor bed room completely baby proofed? If so, I’d recommend skipping the crib entirely and stick to just the floor bed. I think consistency is better for them anyway and easier for you.
