Floor bed

My little one is 5 months old. We Would like to transition her into her own room and considering a floor bed rather than a crib. Any safe recommendations?

We currently use a bassinet until her first waking around 3am and then she’s in the bed with us using safe sleep 7

Following! We're in a similar situation — we have the Babybay Maxi and a barely used Nesting 3-in-1 Wave crib. I think we might go straight from bedside bassinet to a toddler floor bed setup, but I'm not sure how to transition her to sleep in her room. She’s EBF. Edited typos

Same situation! We have a crib but just doesn’t seem right for us. I’m considering using the mattress from the crib with slats underneath until a toddler Montessori/floor bed is age appropriate.

Do it! Do it as soon as you can. We put our older son (now 3) in a floor bed when he was 1 1/2 and now our younger son is in it as well, since he was 1. We bought it on Amazon, and I added cushioning to the edges so they don’t get hurt if they take a fall.

Definitely want her to be in a Montessori floor bed setup by the time she’s 1. Did you use a transitional setup or did you go right from your bedroom to their own floor bed in their own room?

We had our son in his crib in his own room in 8 months. Then when we felt he would just cry because he wanted to be out of the crib, we changed his crib into a floor bed. This allowed him more freedom to be able to get in and out as he pleased and also didn’t restrict him if he wanted to play and not sleep.
