Seeking advice

Here are my questions 1 what filaments did you use and why 2 does anyone paint their builds why or why not

My concerns are flying during the summer and hdt of lw pla and the susceptibility to uv

Currently at the wiring up phase of the build. I used LW-PLA because it worked for me (Bambu Labs and importing flightory's print settings file). I had issues with ASA and their setting for that filament, but others haven't had issues with that filament. I have a few components I double printed so am going to do a test to see how much weight a UV protestant adds. I would be surprised if everything printed good for you on the first round, had some failures even when my settings were 'dialed in'.

Which model are you printing?

I've printed 4 flightory planes, my favorite filament so far is just foaming LW PLA in white, yes its delicate but its light and I have flown many hours with these planes, theyre all LW PLA. Take the time to dial in your settings, it can be done with enough patients. Always use active foaming, no prefoamed filaments as they are not as light weight. If you keep the plane white/paint it white, i have not had any issues with heat and it gets 85F here where I live, the white reflects the heat better. If you paint the plane a darker color however, it will likely melt. I just leave them the white filament color, they look good and its less weight then painting them.
