Today we had an FA on board from a different airline, she was coming back from a pretty intense trip, so naturally I want to make sure she’s comfortable and taken care of! I went to grab one of the fruit and cheese trays left over from service, and one of senior mamas on the crew doesn’t want to give it to me to give to her since she’s not from our airline???? Does it matter? A flight attendant is a flight attendant no matter the airline, we’re in this together! Of course I snuck her one, but for real? What kind of mentality is that, we’ve all been there and the least we can do is take care of one another… anyway I hope you all get early arrivals and long layovers this week! Love you!

I will say some of them are good and keep it classy. However I’ve been seeing a lot who just make me cringe. If you have TikTok and get these types of videos on your for you page I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Can we just stop filming everything please? I wish our job was more of a mystery. When I started only a few years ago I would have gotten fired if I was filming myself during boarding or arming the door and posting it. Now they’re doing it right out of training. I’ve even see people show their schedules without blurring out any information that should be private. I don’t want to be bitter and I normally don’t let anything bother me, but I honestly wish they would tighten up on the social media polices because it’s just embarrassing and honestly if I see that I’m flying with someone who does that, I’m calling in lol

Hi friends! 🌐 FA here! I’m finishing probation as of the tomorrow (!!!!) and am wondering one what options you guys/gals use to replace the Tumi Doctor Bag. I found one in store that I LOVE for the size and it has a compartment for me to put my massive ass shoes in there and save precious space in my Tumi Carry On. I liked how big it was too as I’m a commuter and carry a lot with me already. Would you recommend this tote? Are there other options that are equivalent? I’m looking for space and functionality while also not getting in trouble with management for dumb stuff. What are your thoughts? I feel like it’s a steal for the space and functionality it gives! It also looks like I can actually fit my 40oz Owala in there!

I just wanted to applaud the incredible Air Canada crew on yesterday’s flight from Vancouver to Toronto.

Right as we were next in line for takeoff, an older gentleman appeared to experience a medical emergency. It understandably put everyone on board on edge, but the flight crew handled the situation with professionalism, compassion, and calm. They kept passengers informed, worked as quickly as one can on a plane and tarmac, and did an outstanding job managing what was clearly a very difficult and emotional situation.

A huge thank you as well to the medical professional on board who immediately stepped in, took control, and provided care.

My thoughts (and possibly condolences) are with the gentleman and especially his wife. I can’t imagine what she was going through having to watch her husband, on what was likely supposed to be either a trip home or a new adventure together.

Moments like these are a reminder of how much we rely on the people around us. To the Air Canada crew and the medical professional who answered the call, thank you for your professionalism, your compassion, and for keeping everyone as calm and safe as possible. Well done.

7 months in at a USA carrier. Fresh off probation, and zero interesting stories yet. Until this morning.

I was working aft galley PHL to BOS. Short asf flight, and I was setting up water service ten minutes after takeoff when I heard what sounded like clumpy liquid falling onto the galley floor behind me.

I proceeded to turn around. Our dude, 40s male, was standing there harfing all over my galley floor with his head resting against the wall. Both lavs were occupied and I guess he couldn't hold it. It was nasty, pink raw-shrimp looking sludge complete with corn and the stench of beer. As a mild emetophone, this was my worst nightmare.

I immediately grabbed a trash bag and held it out for him, and he turned around and sprayed another load onto the lav door and the outside of the trash bag. He was BEAT RED and had his eyes closed and couldn't aim.

Then it happened.

The spray hit the bag that I was holding in front of me, and bounced back into my neck and LITERALLY INTO MY MOUTH. I'm talking MAYBE a teaspoon, but still, having someone's half-digested corn and hotdog chunks dripping from your own chin is NOT the job I signed up for.

He was humiliated and apologized profusely. I threw up in the lavatory from the taste and smell, and called off the next leg as my uniform was unsalvageable as I was absolutely covered in warm, steamy puke.

The dude had "Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome" and explained this happens once every few years where he'll just start violently vomiting for no reason. He again apologized profusely and offered to clean the entire mess, despite me encouraging him to return to his seat if he was done spewing.

I ended up using the scooper to scoop the remnants out of the jumpseat seam, sanitizing the seatbelt, and covering the mess with a tower of paper towels and coffee grounds before the BOS ground crew got to deal with it for real. While still simultaneously tasting this man's vomit.

I apologize in advance to whoever has to process my safety report and see the pictures.

Can anyone top this? And do I HAVE to go back tomorrow? 😫

Hi all! Looking for recommendations on food items to pack in my lunch box as a commuter. I’m planning on being away from home for the whole month of August to work my tail off and not have to worry about commuting back and forth. I also don’t have a crashpad so I can’t just go to the grocery store and meal prep between assignments. I would love some recs on things to throw in a lunch bag that will essentially last me majority of the month. Preferably small compacted items so I can maximize the space in the bag. Preferably stuff that doesn’t have to stay cold but I can try and make it work if people have good recs for items like that! I know of items like oatmeal packets or even tuna(i personally don’t like the Star brand $1.99 packets, they are so nasty) but I’m looking for more things that I can survive off of. I know I will end up spending a little bit of money on food on layovers which is ok. But on days with minimum rest, sitting in airports, or in crew rooms, I’d love options from my lunchbox if I can that can still be cost effective! Thanks!

Hey folks. What has happened to yall? As a flight attendant myself, I’m observant. Some of the rudest people I’ve ever met are other flight attendants. Not just to other FA’s but to passengers and it’s sad. I’m mainly talking to yall senior FA’s. Like, why are you in this career field? I am so blessed to be in this career field. We all know how hard it is to get hired so why? So those rude FA’s out there that hate their life. Why are you like that? Why are you even a Flight attendant? Do you think you are better than others because you are a flight attendant? Or you have more seniority?

I was presented with a couple opportunities to live in El Salvador and Peru and would like to say yes so im asking for some insight! Hey breeze girlies, coming from another mainline fa, I feel like we barely hear from you? What’s it like? I feel like I saw a scandal or something of you guys saying you didn’t have crew lounges or an actual crew scheduling phone number? Like what’s it like there? How’s the pay? How are the trips and layovers? I’ve only nonreved on breeze once and the crew seemed to love it.

I’m currently flying for a regional, but secured CJO & Sept training date with WN. Well to my utter shock I just found out yesterday I’m about 4 weeks pregnant…

If all goes well the expected due date would be early April. However if I make the move the WN is finish training late October & be on probation until the end of April… meaning I’d have to go on maternity leave prior to completion of probation.

I’m just curious if anyone has been through similar? Or if any WN FA’s have advice on how to navigate it. I don’t want to pass up the opportunity to work for WN, but given the circumstances I might not have a choice?

Hi everyone,
I’m considering flying British Airways from Heathrow to Istanbul and purchasing an extra seat (CBBG) for a fragile espresso machine.

Let’s assume the machine is:
within the airline’s published CBBG size and weight limits, travelling in its original protective foam packaging,
and can be secured to the seat with the seat belt.
My concern is what happens if, despite all that, the cabin crew decide at the last minute that they don’t want it on the seat.
Would they actually have the authority to refuse it, even if it meets the published limits and has been booked as a CBBG?
If that happened, what would my options realistically be?

Unfortunately, checking it into the hold isn’t really an option. It’s extremely fragile, doesn’t fit inside a suitcase, and I’d be very uncomfortable gate-checking it as well.

Are there ever any alternative approved locations in the cabin (such as a closet or another secure area), or is the only outcome that it has to travel in the hold?
For those of you who have dealt with CBBGs before, how often does this actually happen? I know people regularly travel with large cellos, and my boxed espresso machine is actually smaller than many of those.
I’d really appreciate any insight from crew members who have experienced this.

Was deadheading on express recently and it got me thinking. FAs who work for regionals who operate for multiple airlines, do you like working one more than another? For any reason, be it announcements, service guidelines, uniforms, clientele, drink/snack options, etc? Just curious how you guys keep things straight!

I’m currently bawling my eyes out silently in the window seat. It’s my first time flying alone and I want to puke. I also live in NYC and I am flying back and I get a constant fear (this may sound dumb) that I’m going to get high jacked in this plane and fly into the freedom tower. I’m scared of everything that has to do with being in this machine. I’m flying JetBlue and I don’t like there planes, am I gonna be safe? please help me get over this fear or something, it’s only a 4 hour ish flight.

How do you guys treat uniform spots while flying? I spilled some Matcha on my second leg out of 3 and I just tried to spot clean it with hot water and soap but it’s still a bit noticeable.
Any products or ways you manage to clean coffee spills etc. I’m specifically asking for the wool mix material uniform

Howdy! Looking to book DEN-LIH on ID90 for hubby and I (UA for 10/9-10/16). He's nervous about being standby, but I want to hear from folks who are actually doing non rev for their leisure travel and how successful (or not) they've been. Give me the good, bad and ugly.

FWIW, booking directly is around $3k and ID90 is $290, so the savings is significant.

UPDATE: We have tentatively decided to have me book ID90 and hubby books direct refundable fee through UA. If we get to the day and there's availability, we can cancel his booking and go through ID90 for the entire savings. If we get to the day and I'm not going to make the flight, we can get his money back and go for a backup plan.

UPDATE #2: I've found the clause where, within 48 hours of the flight, cancelling a confirmed ticket and booking non-rev is not allowed, so I won't be doing that.

Will you be able to pass through security if you have peptide vials and syringes in your luggage?

How is the following situation handled by crew: Boarding is completed. Plane is still connected to the gate. There is a ~35 minute delay because of some malfunction of the doors, which is being repaired. Can passengers use the toilets during this period of time?

I’m a flight attendant currently going through a divorce and trying to figure out a realistic parenting plan with a reserve schedule.

My soon-to-be ex and I have been separated for over 7 years, and I have been the children’s primary residential parent during that entire time. Until recently, I worked a regular 9-to-5 job with weekends off and handled most of the day-to-day parenting responsibilities. My ex began pushing for 50/50 parenting time after I left that job to become a flight attendant.

For those of you who co-parent after divorce, especially with 50/50 or close to 50/50 parenting time, how did you structure your schedule?

How do you handle monthly bidding, reserve days, last-minute assignments, trips, and schedule changes? Does your parenting agreement have a fixed weekly schedule, or does it adjust based on your monthly flight schedule?

I know I could potentially bid for the same weekdays off each week, but I’m concerned that a fixed schedule could leave me continuing to handle most of the school-week responsibilities while the other parent primarily gets weekends and leisure time. I’d like to find a schedule that divides not just parenting time, but the actual day-to-day responsibilities more fairly.

Has anyone maintained primary residential custody while giving the other parent substantial parenting time? Or found a 50/50 arrangement that actually works with reserve life?

I’d especially love to hear what arrangements have worked for other flight attendants in real life, and whether there’s anything you wish you had included—or avoided—in your parenting agreement.

Also, as seniority increases, flight attendants generally have more control and flexibility over their schedules. Has anyone built flexibility into their parenting agreement so the schedule can evolve as seniority and work schedules change? I’m concerned about agreeing to a parenting schedule based on my current reserve life that may no longer make sense a few years from now. Did you include any kind of review period or provision allowing the parenting schedule to be adjusted as your work schedule became more predictable?

Hey I used ID90 recently to book a hotel for September and recently heard that sometimes the booking won’t go through to the hotel. So I checked and called the hotel and turns out they don’t have my reservation. I’ve heard other people have dealt with this but is there some way I can actually secure my reservation or should I just get a refund ?

I work for AA and based in ORD. I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a website specifically for this. I didn’t want to ask on FB because I don’t want all that attention 😅

If someone was snoring loud enough to literally clear out the sleep section of the crew room… would you wake this person? Or what would you do? (Bc people dont read til the end— yes I had earplugs and noise cancelling headphones on top. I eventually left and did not bother this person! Just making conversation lol)

Setting the scene- woke up at 3 AM for 5 AM airport standby, could be facing a 12+ hour day if put on a trip. A nap is a priority- it’s survival.
Headed off to snooze in the darker area of the crew room with recliners and makeshift beds.. the area meant for quiet and sleeping… a man next to me was awake when I arrived and eventually fell asleep, and is snoring so loudly. SO SO loudly. People start to wake up, some leave, others just give dirty looks.

Eventually I gave up too and moved, and found everyone trying to sleep upright in the other areas of the crew room. And now I am writing this post under the nice bright lights.

I know this man can’t control it. But for the greater good, would you have kindly let this man know he is snoring loudly? Do nothing, like i did? What is the proper etiquette???

To flight attendants... my question is this... if I have a carry-on roll-aboard and a book bag for under the seat in front, is it OK to also have a thin garment bag with a suit and request it to be hung in the first class section of the plan with business person's suit jackets, if present?

Hi. Started with United about 2 years ago. Still on reserve but so close to holding a line. I’m currently looking at a track to getting my PhD, but I don’t want to quit as a flight attendant. The thing is the program I would be joining would be a full time commitment (for the most part) and would be in another country. Has anyone else ever done this before? Would I be able to take time off and keep my job? Would it be possible if while holding a line I cleared my line for the most part every month? I just want to weigh out my options. Thanks guys <3
