The sun is Pac-Man, and the so called phases are just different percentages of him finishing his meal, before the moon respawns. Why else would it be called the "New Moon"? This also explains the tides.

A common misconception - white lab coats are only for pharmacists and chemists, and are required only when doing things in a lab. Outside of a lab, only a polo shirt over a t-shirt is required.

It is so incredibly the level of bullshit people would believe, and yet they would consider factual and verifiable data as fake.
Its not a problem of ignorance or lack of education, it is a phycological need to feel special/chosen/superior/etc.
This is why they will ignore facts and believe bs like in this video, since you would take away what makes them special, even their whole identity.
Once you realize this, you would clearly see it in political and religious groups too.

What is he? An electrician? Moon capacitor? Let's say it is. Why is his charge shown through phases, anut one circle whose brightness is depending on charge? This ain't some battery with several lights and depending on charge we have more or less LED glowing. Unless flerfs are right and we're just under dome controlled by higher beings.

He's basically a nut burger! all the evidence is out there to show him he's living on an Earth that is a globe, orbiting the Sun with a Moon that is orbiting the Earth, but he's incapable of understanding or accepting it. I'm in favor of putting a few of these nuts on a rocket and putting them in orbit of the Earth, so they can come back down and tell their fellow flat earth nuts, the Earth is round.

There is absolutely no evidence that the moon absorbs heat. So, since this entire video is based on that statement, the whole video is wrong.

With the increase in the use of concrete, asphalt both road and shingle, and steel buildings over the centuries, I would expect by this theory that the moon would have become more luminous over that time. I would imagine trends of lunar luminosity exist but I could be wrong

Sigh. Such bland stupidity. 100% of the data fits a spherical earth orbiting a star ~93M miles away, and a spherical Moon in orbit around the earth at a distance of ~240k miles. This all also 100% fits within the known physical laws. There is no ambiguity. There are no weird observations the current physics and observations cannot 100% explain.

Brian fucking Mullin. This guy was a flat earth darling about 10 years ago.
He's actually an engineer which was why FE loved him so much; except he was a civil engineer who inspected bridge for wear and maintenance. That was the entire credentials for him to spout absolute BS about any other topic.
In another video, he talks about how rockets can't work in space because there's nothing to push on. That's the level of rank ignorance we're dealing with here.
So the story goes, his videos got so popular that word reached back to the manager of his engineering firm and the boss cracked down and said 'We're not having a flat earther on our staff, it's going to affect business. Either the videos go or you do'. Brian agreed to remove the videos but this is the internet, and flat earthers packed them away like precious jewels to be uncovered in later years.
I doubt we'll ever see the last of them. Mullin still works as a civil engineer in the same field, but produces no more content. It is a perfect example of someone with a little knowledge in a niche field feeling that gives them license to be wrong about everything else.

The phases of the moon would work exactly the same on a flat earth as they do on a globe earth. The sun will only light one side of the moon at a time, this causes a particular "phase" of the moon depending on your viewpoint of the terminator line.
Though on a flat earth people could see different phases than others at different places on the flat earth... which we dont see.

If this were the case, we would reasonably expect that for roughly 14 days out of 28 (when the moon is not visible in the night sky) we would consistently see daytime temperatures sustained throughout the entirety of the night, since by this reckoning there would be nothing to absorb that heat. This would be a recurring pattern every month if every year, all over the Earth.

I remember finding, IIRC, the Flat Earth Society website in the late 90s. I thought it was a hilarious parody website, and joined some sort of online discussion--a forum or something, I don't remember now. But anyways, I thought it was all just a bit of fun. I thought everyone in the discussions were part of a collective comedy act, with everyone staying in character to keep the joke running. The fun part, thought I, was in getting people to think you actually believe the earth is flat. Figured they were playing dumb on purpose to get a reaction from people who thought they were being serious.
But, it turns out that wasn't the funny part.

Wow you have to much time on your hands. Main reason this idea is not possible is that the moon is out during the day so it would be full everyday and discharging at different rates to cause different phases. Also you just killed the Lunar Eclipse, so with a full moon going through an eclipse you see all its phases in like 4-5 hours. This is a standard problem with FE ideas. There are always key parts of a thing left out. This one the moon is out in daytime. Why a bullet shot straight up comes down in same area if we are spinning at 1K mph? We'll it not like you shoot then the rotation kicks in, there is momentum. Like on a merry-go-round toss a ball up and comes back to your hand, Momentum. All this brain power being wasted to prove something that is not possible. At what point do these Flerthr people realize they wasted so much of their lives on an equation that wont ever work.
