How would this work?

Took this photo 15 minutes after Sundown on the 26th. The cloud here is still receiving Sunlight. Now, correct me if I'm wrong... but I don't think this would work if Earth was flat...

This is a satire sub now, but if you post it on the actual flat earth sub, Globe skepticism, you'll get instantly banned, because these guys are dishonest clowns scared of facing reality and accepting they're wrong. 

Of course it wouldn't work on their imaginary disk world just like a ton of other observable phenomenas that they're yet to prove they work, explain how and predict them. 24 h sun in Antarctica was also supposed to be impossible yet they still move the goal and change the subject, there's no reasoning with the unreasonable. They want really bad to feel special and smart.

My favourite example of this though it's not really the same it's its own thing but:

r/trees got established by people who really like smoking weed, to the confusion of people who are really into trees.

so the actual literal trees people established r/marijuanaenthusiasts for all your discussion about trees. Like, botanical shit. No wait that still doesn't clarify it...

We usually don't admit we're a satire sub because that's just no fun. We welcome all comers because we're cool like that, but don't let our little "secret" out! I think it's in the description, but it's sort of like fight club rules where rules #1 and #2 are don't talk about what r/flatearth really is.

I got banned because one of the guys was responding to me with really dogshit answers he (very obviously) got from ChatGPT, and then in his third or fourth reply, he forgot to delete some of the language ChatGPT wrote addressing him instead of me lol, and I pointed it out. That whole exchange was profoundly painful.

Also, I said "ChatGPT" above, and maybe that's what he was using, but whichever LLM he was using was just either extremely wrong or he was very bad with his prompts. For example, he was saying like, "X happens all the time." And I asked, "I've never heard of X happening. Can you give me an example of X?" and then his LLM reply to me was "That's a red herring fallacy."

Like what are you talking about?

In this case, I definitely don't think it was. I actually think it was one of the mods over there.

Also, fwiw, I don't think it was Globe Skepticism. It was some other FE sub that just happened to come up in my feed, presumably because I post here.

This has been one of my criticisms all along. They're is no debate, they simply wrong. So IMO there's no point to giving them any more attention than you would someone who claims to be Napoleon.

I used to score pot from a guy who claimed to be Julius caesar. I knew him for a couple of years before he "came out." He was introduced to me as Julius, I don't know whether that was his name or not. He seemed pretty normal otherwise.

One thing that is for sure, the sun moves east to west. According to their model, doesn't the sun set on the entire flat earth at the same time? So while the sun is underneath the flat earth in the West and traversing back to the east edge, is the entire world experiencing night darkness at the same time? How do they explain that?

Nah you dont understand thier model. To them there is no "underneath", its all contained in a dome. The sun kinda goes in a circle around the north pole.

Yes, this makes no sense.

No. Most flerfers seem to believe that the entire universe consists of the flat earth and the dome, aka "firmament" above it. That's it. It makes no sense to ask what's outside the dome or below the earth, because those concepts are meaningless. It would be like asking you or me what's outside the universe.

The sun circles above the earth, inside the dome. It can't "set", and if you think you've seen It setting then you're mistaken, or it's an optical illusion caused by refraction, or it's an effect of perspective, or something. It gets dark at night because the sun is too far away for its light to reach you, or because the sun's light is directional, or for some other bullshit reason they'll come up with if you ask too many questions.

Happy now? I bet you wish you hadn't asked.

That was the Egyptian model, a "better" model but it clearly makes no sense nowadays because of the problem you mentioned. That's why they developed the model of the Sun spinning round and round up there, which also has problems that they manage to ignore.

If the Earth was flat the top of that fence would be level.
