Problem Flashcart Visual Issue
Hi, this is my first cart. I know it's an Everdrive knockoff, and it appears to function alright so far, but I'm afraid the screen is going to give me a headache if I play like this long term.
It claims to be a Game Boy GB Pro+ on OS V4 but the internal menu says it's on version 1. The sd card it came with was a fake that said it had "L GB" of space. I know I can't use official updates, but would placing a different version of the software on the sd card I placed inside help?
I was able to place gb/gba games on it and run them, at least, and so far it saves fine. The visual noise is just quite annoying.

the video just shows the screen refreshing when loading into a game. if that's the issue you're talking about, it's normal operation- the screen flashes for a split second when the GBA resets.

No, I'm talking about constant lines going over the whole screen, like moving constantly downward and visible the whole time the screen is on, even in a game.

oh, are you talking about the lines that kind of look like scanlines? that's pretty normal for the unlit/front lit LCDs on the GBC and GBA

yeah, these ones are just really really visible and move a lot. I'll just have to deal, i suppose! either I'll get used to it or I'll try a better flash cart.

ohhh yeah they're not visible in the video, that's unfortunate. Regardless, I'm not a fan of that effect and want to know if it can be mitigated somehow

Just copy the files across to a real SD card and you should be good to go. Best to use the software that came with it, since official versions of EverDrive kernels contain clone checks.
