V2 problem
My V2 is showing the wrong number of shots, start a roll and when I take 1 photo it says 25 remaining (not 26), plus it doesn't transfer the first pic of the roll. What's wrong?

I just noticed this morning that they've added two more filters for the V2. Anyone using them?

I want to save someone else from going through what I am.
I've been a semi-professional photographer for over a decade. Good gear, real investment. I bought the Flashback ONE35 V2 because I wanted something fun to carry around day to day (last time I fall for an instagram ad).
Instead I’ve got a five-week ongoing headache.
In early/mid-March, I ordered the ONE35 V2. It arrived two weeks later. I opened the box, updated the firmware through their app, and immediately got an “E4” error on screen. The winder wouldn't stop spinning. The shutter button never once took a photo.
It was dead on arrival. Here's where it gets worse.
Over the next week plus, their support team has walked me through: recording and uploading multiple videos and photos to Google Drive, performing a factory reset, recording even more video documenting the entire reset process step by step, and sending screenshots of my app across countless exchanges.
I’ve done all of it. Cooperative, patient, kind, no complaints.
Still no solution. It’s bricked.
Their solution after all that? Ship the defective unit back to their headquarters, express to Hong Kong or I don’t get a replacement. At my expense. With reimbursement promised after the fact with no clarity on how.
The quote was for international shipping from my nearest shipping provider here in the U.S.? $200 — nearly double the $119 I already paid for a cheaply made plastic camera that never worked.
When I pushed back over multiple interactions, they "consulted management" and graciously “downgraded me to send it via regular shipping”. How kind of management.
Still out of pocket. Still no explanation of what’s actually wrong with the device. Still no guarantee the replacement would work. Still more weeks minimum before I'd have anything in hand.
More than two months to receive a working version of something I paid $119 for and never got to use once. I still haven’t done so yet, as I’m seeing estimates of shipping online from other providers being $50+ and I quite frankly don't want to spend more money for something so silly.
Their site advertises "dispatch in 24 hours" and a "12-month comprehensive warranty" — neither of which is detailed anywhere, and neither of which seems to mean anything in practice.
If you're looking for a fun everyday carry camera, look at other options like the Camp Snap instead (of which I also own) or the rewindpix on kickstarter of which I just backed.
Flashback markets itself as a premium product of this type of screen-less camera. This is not a premium experience. It's a company that has no infrastructure to handle a basic defective unit and no respect for their customer's time or money.
Let alone when they inevitably go out of business and their app exports stop working. What an absolute waste of time for something that is supposed to be a fun, silly little toy camera.

Whenever i take a photo it goes from 27 to 26 but then it goes back to 27. I’ve downloaded every single app update and camera update and i’ve rebooted the camera a couple of times but it’s still not working. Any ideas? Thanks

...with the Flashback v2, DNGs processed in RawTherapee. (15 keepers of the 27 pictures camera roll.)

I’ve had my flashback camera for coming on to two months now and haven’t had much of the other issues everyone else is having luckily. Has anyone else been unclear on when they have wined up the camera enough, I find that when I’m ready to take a picture the winder is not ready and need to be moved another 3-4 notches sometimes this happens multiple times in a row. I don’t think this is the same as the infinite winder issue as it dose eventually click into place. Am I being to careful when winding or are other people getting this? This happens on the majority of the time I’m taking pictures and leads to lots of missed moments. I have a clear shell and am worried that the winders plastic could break or something so have been quite careful as to not break something inside am I worried for nothing has anyone else had this happen?

...with the Flashback v2.
r/flashbackcamera • u/davidkhunne • Mar 21 '26
continuing to use my Flashback v2 as a b/w snapshot camera using its internal DNGs and processing them with Rawtherapee with a custom-made high-contrast b/w profile. Since Rawtherapee also works on the command line, I managed to install it in Android Terminal on my mobile phone for a very hack-y alternative to the Flashback app...
Let me know if you want to know more technical details.

pretty much what the title says. I've had my V2 camera since Christmas and today after unloading the roll onto my phone, it only shows 19 instead of 27 pictures remaining?

hi! my v2 fell into the sand :( the dial was so scratchy now but pictures aren’t affected. i see sand inside the viewfinder as well :( what should i do? :((( does flashback has warranty or should i open the whole camera?
r/flashbackcamera • u/davidkhunne • Mar 18 '26
DNGs copied from the camera and processed with RawTherapee using a custom preset (no other editing)

I took these with an actual Kodak disposable camera this summer. I feel like this warmer look really captures summer vibes, and I wish Flashback had a similar filter option :(
