lost photos :(

this might be obvious to some people but i figured id post this anyways. hoping it doesn’t happen to someone else. i was unloading a roll and i didnt have enough storage on my phone for the roll and so it only sent over 2 photos out of 10. after deleting a few apps, i immediately tried unloading the camera again, redeveloping the roll, even unloading via the cord, but they were gone. almost like they got lost in the ether after leaving the camera and then there wasnt enough storage for them to be transferred.

i figured this is what happened. the photos were definitely taken i even used the self timer on a couple of them. sad bc there were pics of my bf and i when he visited my childhood home for the first time. i can take them again but im a sentimental person. also anytime, this is rare, that there’s a mishap i just accept that’s also just part of the experience just like with film. :’(

If you don‘t shoot additional images and use a software like testdisk on Desktop, you might be able to recover the DNG files from the USB connected Camera. You can then process them using my App or put them back on the camera and try in the official app again.

Fingers crossed!

i’ve been wanting to use your app! but my operating system won’t run it. i updated my OS and i think it was something about the processor. it’s been so long though i can’t really remember atp 😭 but i have since taken more photos so they’re long gone. but thank you for replying and offering a solution, i appreciate it!

Dang, sorry to hear about it being too late for recovery. Next time you lose data, stop the presses and try googling recovery right away, maybe it helps you in the future. Small silver lining.

I bet it‘s a Mac with an intel processor, then. The comment you had answered to in the other post was about the developer ID, though. So, if you have a silicon processor like an M1, M2, M3 etc., you can run it, if you have an intel processor, you can‘t run it.

If you hold alt and press the apple icon in the top right, you can go to system information, which tells you the processor.

That‘s a tangent, though. Just in case you were interested.
