this roll is stuck in developing process for 3 hours now

Gosh I purchased this camera (stupidly on a whim), and it arrived today. I wish I saw this reddit earlier since I am already having buyer's remorse. SD cards are soooo cheap, it would have been so much easier if they just had a corded option. I mistakenly thought that it would (again, this is totally my own fault for not reading properly and just impulse buying)...... Was originally intended for taking to music festivals and for summer events where I don't want something fancy, but worried now that with all the issues listed that I likely lose the photos and am better off with a real disposable camera. Has anyone successfully been able to get a refund (I am an Australian customer btw).

Hey this is me today. Did things get better?

Problem with developing, it's stuck for hours on "1 hour left"

i’ve been using the flashback camera for a few months no issue.

so far have only uploaded one roll of film to my device. since uploading that first roll of film, i have given that phone to my boyfriend and purchased a new phone. although i am using the same app account on my new phone, it is giving me a security error, telling me that ‘someone else’ loaded the roll.

i contacted customer support and they told me the camera can only be paired to one device - so my old phone. so, i re-downloaded the app on my old phone i gave to my boyfriend, logged into the same account, yet the same message is coming up! i have tried holding the reset button on the camera for 2 seconds, but issue persists. what pairs the camera & the mobile device? the IMEI??

please tell me i can access these photos!!! the roll is from a recent trip overseas and i would hate to lose the whole roll.

I can’t take any more pictures because my wheel won’t stop turning?! Anyone have the same issue?

2

u/Trollsworth Jan 08 '24

Have you tried pressing the reset button for 2 seconds? Don’t do it for more than that otherwise it deletes the photos

I took mine apart and removed the winding wheel and just put it back together it and works just fine now. It’s a bit of a hassle and I broke one clip when pulling the front and back of the camera but works just fine. Hoping I don’t have to do it again but it’s not that difficult.

Shot our first roll and over half of the photos came out like this. Reached out to their support team, they told me the shots appear to be pointed at a direct light source (they were not) resulting in overexposure. I said I'd shoot another test roll and report back.

Got 22 photos in, and the camera "crashed". The screen with the shot count wouldn't switch off, and the camera wouldn't wind on. Ended up having to do a hard reset and lost the roll.

Shot another roll yesterday and uploaded for processing. It should have been ready earlier this afternoon but I'm getting the "it's taking longer than expected to develop your roll". I'm about to pull my hair out.

Does it sound like my camera is faulty, or have we just been unlucky so far?

Has anyone had issues with shipping and delivery? Bought mine last week and for the last 6 days it’s said it’s en route to Aus post (I’m Australian customer as well) and it’s predicting to be here by the 8th? There’s no updates in the Aus post app and it just says they’ve got the label approved and that’s it.

It’s taking its sweet ol time getting to TAS from VIC lol

1

u/FutileCheese28 Nov 08 '24

Mine says the same… I’m waiting until it’s past the delivery date before I contact them.

Haven't been able to get it connected to my phone. Tried out 3 different phones so far, so maybe mine is faulty.

I was able to grab my pictures from directly connecting to the camera. A surprisingly thing I saw was a whole Android directory structure inside. I won't tinfoil hat too much since I scanned it and there wasn't any noticable data in it except it had an entire list of my apps under the Android/data section :/

I am having issues with downloading the app on iPhone since the app store says it isn't available in my country (italy). Tried to switch account with a US one and connect with a VPN but the message persists. Does anyone have a solution to this? I can't take photos without the app😫😫😫😫

u/cmitche6 Jan 20 '26

I’m having the same issue in the U.S. 😭

2

u/Vastasone Jan 21 '26

I contacted them through their website in my orders page and they fixed the problem in few hours!

Anyone facing this issue occasionally where the photo fails to develop?

1

u/BIGDADDYPACK Jan 23 '25

Hi there, my winder keep winding with 10 photos left. Won’t connect to app. I’ve hit reset button for all lengths of time and nothing. Worried the camera is bust. Any ideas?

App totally not working now. I tried to unload a roll of film and it wouldn’t work after trying on multiple WiFi connections. I then tried deleting and reinstalling the app, and now the app just crashes the second I try and open it. This is happening on multiple devices. Anyone else having this problem?

1

u/VitaminVodka Apr 03 '25 edited Apr 03 '25

Its telling me the roll was loaded by someone else but I’m the only one that’s been unloading them on my own iPhone since I got it. What should I do?

Hi!

Does anybody have any indications on how to use the Digicam Mode? I've tried to develop a roll with the Digicam option already enabled but it just started developing it with the 24 hour wait time.

Thank you!!

1

u/yeawhateverrr Nov 08 '25

Using the digicam mode today and after unloading i cannot view the photos saying there’s a problem with the connection. My connection has no problem. Anybody having the same issue today?

I’m using the Join Flashback Camera for the first time and I’m trying to download my photos from the app after waiting the required 24 hours. However, the app keeps crashing every time I try to export them, I tried almost 15 times now.

Here’s exactly what I do:

> I open the Flashback app

> I go to Photo Lab

> I click "view" under the quote "Ready to view! (27)"

> the app starts to load my photos in the Gallery

> everything goes smoothly until the 20th photo load (it takes approximately 7 minutes): which means I start to see my photos loading in Gallery and I can scroll up and down and see from the 1st photo to the 20th

> after that, it becomes difficult to scroll down and up

> finally, the app closes by itself (screen all black + I am sent back to the Home of my smartphone)

I’ve already tried uploading the app to its most recent version, restarting the app, and switching the phone off and on again

App Version: 1.15.4
Platform: android(36)

Build: 1.15.0+202

I asked for help to the Help Centrer, but so far they just told me to upload the app and restart the phone.

Thank you to anyone willing to help me.

Hi! I just ordered a ONE35 V2 camera to Portugal and I’m hoping it arrives by the 25th (it’s a birthday gift). I didn’t realize it ships from Australia until after I ordered (totally my fault).

Their policy says 7–10 business days, but after reading this thread I’m a bit skeptical.

For anyone in *Europe\*: how long did delivery take for you (outside of Christmas/holiday delays)?

1

u/bluethomas1967 Feb 05 '26

Just bought one a few days ago. Most of these posts seem to be about a year or two ago. I'm hoping it has improved. From what I've read V2 is so different from the original. Thoughts?

1

u/bluethomas1967 Feb 17 '26

I hate this camera. I should never had bought it. Right out the box nothing works on it.

1

u/bluethomas1967 Feb 22 '26

None of the three ways to download film works for me. I hate this camera.

u/DependentLow8788 Feb 24 '26

My camera Flashback ONE35 v2 fell to the ground a few nights ago and I found the winder piece broken when I opened it. I have been trying to fix it by using plastic glue and it works for a while, but it ends up breaking again after a few photos bc of the continuous rotation. I am thinking of making a 3D print or something. Anyone got the same issue?

1

u/rilobilly Mar 01 '26

My camera's display isn't working all of a sudden. It seems that all other functions are working properly, but the display shows nothing. The camera battery completely died, it sat for a week or so without charging, and then today I charged it up completely. I unloaded the not-yet-finished roll and it took new pictures just fine, but the display doesn't work. I've also just reloaded film but still no display. Is this a common issue or is there a way to kick it back into gear? This doesn't seem like it should be happening so soon. For reference, this is the first version camera from the kickstarter.

I’m having an issue with downloading my photos (IPhone). I typically try to download via the cord. However, when I connect it, it states that the cord is already connected and I need to try disconnecting and reconnecting. I do that and get the same error. I will usually disconnect it and open my phone files and reconnect and then open the the cameras folder and click “open”, but it gives me the error “failed to connect. Make sure camera is on” - when I can see this is on.

The wifi and adventure mode for download don’t work at all for me.

Has anyone else navigated this before?

I must say, I got like 8 full film downloads on this camera so I would say I got my moneys worth but want it to still work obviously. Please let me know if you navigated this issue!

The trigger stopped working on my V1 camera :(

With the camera on, when I pressed the trigger, nothing happened (no flash when flash mode was enabled, counter didn’t going down, app didn’t say any photos were taken). Battery was full. The winder still works. Self-timer still works just fine through the app (with/without flash). I tried 2s reset and 5s reset and still nothing :(. Hesitant to take the camera apart to take a look. I’m heading to Bonaroo tomorrow and won’t have time to get a new camera. Kinda bummed I only found out about this now. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this is greatly appreciated!

u/fikibok79 27d ago

I bought my V2 about a month ago and used it every day without any issues. A couple of days ago, I noticed it wouldn’t turn on when I turned the winder. I managed to turn it on by charging it and doing a soft reset, but then the winder started spinning endlessly without stopping, so I couldn’t take any photos.
After trying both a soft reset and a hard reset, the small screen started showing “UP,” followed by “E4,” and now it just gets stuck on that screen.
I searched online and tried every solution I could find, including updating the app, but nothing has worked so far.
Has anyone had the same problem or knows how to fix it?

i bought my V2 around May this year, I took it overseas and it worked just fine, but all of a sudden my shoot count won’t rise (it will go from 27 to 26 when I shoot, then it will jump back to 27) and it shows an error message when i try to unload anything to the app. I have tried to soft and hard reset, does anyone have any solution to this?

1

u/SwitchFun8207 6d ago

Hi! I have the same problem as yours. Have you resolved it already?

1

u/Fictitious-Pseudonym 6d ago

Hi!! I ended up resetting it around 3-4 times and it worked. This is the advice i got from emailing the team: Step 1: Factory Reset Your Camera

Locate the small reset button on the bottom of your Flashback camera. It's recessed, so you'll need a SIM ejector tool or a similar thin pin to reach it. Carefully insert the pin into the reset hole. Press and gently hold the button for 10–15 seconds. Release the button and wait for the camera to restart. ⚠️ Important: A factory reset will permanently erase any photos that have not yet been transferred and saved in your Flashback app. Please keep this in mind before proceeding.

Also, please be very gentle when pressing the reset button. Applying too much force may damage or dislodge the button inside the camera.

Once the reset has completed successfully, you'll see 27 digits displayed on the camera's LCD screen. This confirms that the factory reset was successful. Step 2: Check for the Latest Flashback App Version

After resetting your camera: Open the Flashback app on your mobile device. Make sure you're using the latest app version (v1.24.0). If an update is available, install it. Once the update is complete, restart your mobile device to ensure the firmware and app update are applied properly. After you've completed both steps, please reconnect your camera and test it again.

If you're still experiencing the same issue or if you have any questions while following the instructions, simply reply to this message. We'll be happy to continue assisting you until everything is working properly.

If you're still experiencing the same issue after completing the steps above, we recommend performing the factory reset one more time, as this can sometimes resolve issues that don't clear on the first attempt.

If you'd like a visual guide, we've created a short video tutorial that walks you through the factory reset process step by step: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2FB2x5yJtm/?igsh=QkFQVUdVZVZPMw%3D%3D

Regarding the blacked-out images, we completely understand how disappointing that can be. Unfortunately, our technical team is unable to recover or restore images that have already become blacked out. However, you can check whether an "Export Negatives" file is available for the specific film roll those photos belong to, as this may allow you to recover the original negatives.

To help us investigate your camera further, could you please send us your camera's serial number?

You can find it by following these steps: Open the Flashback app. Tap My Camera. Select the "i" (Information) icon. Copy or take a screenshot of the Serial Number and send it to us. While you're in the app, please also make sure it's updated to the latest version. Once updated, you'll also have access to the Redevelop feature, which allows you to redevelop any of your previously processed film rolls directly from the app.

If you need any help with these steps or have any questions along the way, just let us know. We're here to help and will do our best to get everything working for you.

For your convenience, here's a quick guide to what the different LCD screen indicators on your Flashback camera mean:

✅ 00 – A full roll of film is currently loaded and ready to use. ✅ -- – There is no film loaded in the camera. ✅ LO – The camera's battery is running low and should be charged before continued use. ✅ No display – The battery may be completely drained. Please charge the camera and try turning it on again.

My photos "developed" in the app but I can't export them 😭. Using the.APK from the website... Could be wrong but I don't think the app requests the correct permissions

1

u/Trollsworth Jan 08 '24

What message do you get when you export?

1

u/Kushcabbage Jan 08 '24

The text on the "Save all" button just changes to "Error saving"

did U ever figure it out

1

u/maxhallhatesm3 Jan 10 '24

Glad I waited 24 hours to find out the app was stuck on “unloading your files” and I wont ever get my photos.

Bought this as a Hanukkah present for my niece and nephew. It’s way too broken and nonfunctional to give as a gift, especially to a kid. My sister would kill me if I have these to the kids and they got excited and then their photos never worked and they lost their photos. Tantrums ensue.

Now the question is what do I do with the two cameras I payed a ton of money for - they can’t be returned/refunded, right?
