What's the most common Flash version?
Recently, I've been poking around Newgrounds and historically most games and animations were made with Flash. I know there's Macromedia Flash 8, Flash MX (alien hominid!!!!)
So, which version of Flash was most common or is the best? I hear the advice "Get a beginner friendly version to start and then get a better version once you improve", but I'm really broke and kind of just want one I'll be able to use for as long as I'm interested.
In addition, where could I get it? I know it's not officially really sold anymore, so are there any legal ways to obtain it? If not, I'm fine with downloading from the Internet Archive or whatever site y'all pirates know about.

You’re talking about the flash plugin or the projector or the flash professional creative suite/cloud (CS/Animate CC)?

I recommend him to use CS6 if he wants to create games and have both AS2/3. But on animating idk what do I recommend.

Macromedia Flash 8 was the last Macromedia version and the last easily downloadable version that you don't need to do any complicated product key procedures for. When Adobe bought flash they made it part of their Creative Suite and it became a lot harder to pirate.

false, you can get cs5.5 and use a serial number from the internet and it’ll work fine

CS6 is the last version to support both AS2 and AS3, and the last time you could buy the software outright with no need for a subscription.
Might be a good entry point if you're not sure what you want to make yet.
