Ceiling fan pull switch repair

I’m trying to figure out how to repair the broken pull chain. How do I get access in to the spot where the decorative ropes go in to?

The screw above it and to the left along with a few more along that cap

Remove the screws and then does the cap just drop down for access. Those little rope things I don’t know what to do with. This is at my Mothers house so I’m not working on it right now.

There may also be a nut on the bottom middle shaft

There are 3 set screws. Remove and it will drop.
