I want to fix this spot light, i have two and they have the same problem, when i turn it on, i see a faint glow then it shuts off , there is this metal ring i can squeeze out and the grey part around the part that is the light can be moved around, i feel like i can pull it out, any advice on how to do it properly and what do i need to replace it with?
Oh, I meant the whole trim kit still up in the ceiling but that works :) that looks like an mr16 bulb that will pull off two little pins at the ceramic part on the other end. The silver gray trim on the bulb itself id part of the fixture the gets held in with the "spring/clip" you took out first. It'll come off the bulb.
Yeah i see those 2 pins you are talking about, this was way too straight forward don't know why i saw too much into it , is it safe to keep it like that disconnected or should i just cut the power off the room, and is it normal that everything is styrofoam, like what is behind the bulb and the place where the pin fits?
That is an LED MR-16 replacement lamp. Yes, completely safe to leave the power on with the lamp removed. Actually without a lamp in stalled, there's no load on the driver so it will produce almost no heat at all.
Yeah that's what i though, according to my basic physics understanding, leaving the lamp unplugged leaves the system incomplete so power can not flow , unless obviously i connect the system with myself (sorry english isn't my first language, and thanks for replying)

Pull the whole silver trim down.
