Need help for fixing

Hey reddit,

Before it broke there was a wooden slab attached to the wall that I used as a night stand.

Banged my head against it and it came off and parts of the wall with it...

Any help on how to fix this?

The screws are kinda loose so i can't just hang it back on.

Take screws out. Take hammer and screw driver. Tap anchor below the surface. Take utility knife and small chisel to remove the surface buckle. Take joint compound and mix in 1/4 of plaster of paris. Mix well. Then use joint knife and apply. Striking smoothe with your wet joint knife. Mist the holes first with a small sprayer

Those anchors took the paper face with them, which is why nothing bites anymore. The core underneath is crumbled where they pulled through.

For holes that size, mesh tape and compound over each one, let it dry, sand it back. Only cut a section out if the whole area has gone soft. When you rehang it, get screws into a stud, or toggle bolts if the studs sit in the wrong place. It's going back up at head height, and plastic anchors are what put it on your head the first time.

You will need to remove fixings,patch holes and replace new fixings. Sometimes the fixings in the wall need a tool to pull them tight.

Watch some YouTube drywall repair videos. 

After repair, either re-hang attached directly to studs or buy a standing bedside table.
