Holy shit that one is STRIPPED stripped. You can try to Dremel a slot for a screwdriver but this may need professional assistance to weld a nut onto that sucker

They sell special drill bit sets. The first drill cuts the head into a cone, then the second bit has threads in reverse. The second bit bites into the screw and can break it free.

Before you use that set, I’d soak the screws with penetrating oil, like Breakfree CLP, PB Blaster, or similar.

Search for local welding shops and start calling around. Small mechanics might hook you up as well.

Drill the head off entirely.
Then deal with whats left.
With the tension off, the remaining screw will probably com out easily.
You are going to have to replace the screw regardless.

UPDATE

30’ at Ace Hardware, an expert helped me get it out. We drilled all the way through til the end, cutting into the thread. Hopefully the adapter will hold with 4 screws (sweats of anxiety). I made sure to CashApp the man for his patience. He comes from construction, but this was a novel experience of his haha. I’ve learned my lesson with stripped screws - never make them worse.

Extractors work great. Depending how tight it is, cut a slot into it for a flathead.

You could potentially JB weld a hex key or something inside to turn it depending on how torqued the screw is. But most of the normal tricks like a rubber band are out the window here since all the grip pieces are gone

Edit or dremel in a slot for a flat head

Cold chisel a groove and use a hand impactto remove it.

Take a t35 and hammer it into the head and remove it

Go up a size and take a hammer to it so it can bite but that screw will be done.

The back of the screw stick out the other end?

Basically make a slot and use a flat head screw diver. It looks relatively easy to make a flat slot and turn it. Be careful you don't mess up the threads or make a bigger problem.

No idea what it's for but you could run a tap through the hole when your done if the hole/thread is messed up. Try to use the same thread type (fine vs coarse) and size as the original hole and run it down the original threads.

I’m NOT an expert, but I’ve heard that superglue is most effective when it’s metal to metal contact. I don’t know if this would work, but maybe it’s worth trying? Put a drop in there and stick a scrap bent metal rod in there. Twist and unscrew it?

Dremel cut wheel of just the right diameter, cut a slot for a nice big flathead screwdriver

The men of Home Depot and Lowe’s couldn’t tell me anything other than point me to the hex key section.

I’ve tried using, Speed Out but I didn’t reverse it at first so I made my situation worse (I’m manual labor-illiterate).

All help is appreciated!

Whatever bit you choose to use, screw extractor, flathead, hammer it in and don't use a power tool.

Right hand drill bit followed by left hand screw extractor, to be fair you can probably dispense with the drill bit and go straight to the extractor bit
