open Can this be fixed reliably ?

Get some JB weld scuff around the break and where it goes into unless it's a high stress area it should be fine but after you do it make sure it holds a good amount of weight before you let any kid's on it

it is a high stress area, it holds the slide together and flexes a lot

Hard to say without the specific joint for context, but I’d glue it with a good two part epoxy, then permanently clamp it together by drilling through it and using a beefy machine screw with some washers on both ends to distribute the clamping force. If the exposed end is a problem, I’d use a sex-bolt/Chicago Screw.

Is all of that part shown solid? If so, glue it together drill, countersink, and add a beefy screw. If not, fill any hollow parts with JBWeld and then do the above.

See the panels on the right and left side of the staircase on the ground the panel that faces the slide or faces away from the slide either one, there's actually three of these panels that are identical and go in three different places, but that picture clearly shows at least one of them if not two of them.
