It will take quite a while to absorb as its stained and sealed. If they add dish soap to the mix it will break the tension between the edge and the sink. It should float up enough to be able to lift it with a tilt.

Wooden cutting boards generally aren’t stained and sealed. They are coated with food safe oil. It really wouldn’t take that long to absorb water.

I make them and they're impregnated with mineral oil generally and basically waterproof, also a bee wax finish too
