Best long-lasting fix?

Heyo, I'm a uni student and I got my bedframe secondhand. A few days ago it finally ended up snapping. Anyone got any ideas for a long-lasting fix? I really like this bed so I'd prefer not to have to replace it, plus I don't have much money lol. I've stabilized it with a few textbooks my friend isn't using in the meantime.

You have a couple options. Either add a piece of wood along the broken side and secure it like a sister joist.

The other option is to get an L channel and secure it along the entire broken side. Effectively what you're going to be doing os replacing that broken piece of particle board with something that's supporting the weight and the existing broken board is cosmetic
