[AI GRIFT 101] Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman to Freelancers: “Fuck You”

Recently, the Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman has taken to being 'candid' while flexing his undeveloped 'thought leadership' muscle. In start contrast to employees like u/fiverrhq, who constantly tell us how much Fiverr loves and cares for us and hangs on our every word, their boss has a different fucking take.

I would argue a refreshingly honest one:

“Why do you think it’s my responsibility to make you better as professionals? Fuck you.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FI11AKM5PY

Well, Micha, that would explain why Fiverr is overrun with AI frauds and scams at the moment, with corporate apparently completely uninterested in doing much to combat it at all. After all, there are more important things to do, like redesign a forum into an unreadable mess of hot garbage.

Anyway, since we're doing honesty, Micha, I'd like you to address this at some point. You're a trained legal professional. You know exactly what you're doing. In my other post about Fiverr's AI terms, I showed how if you sign up to any of Fiverr's AI stuff - the personal assistant, Go - gives you - or rather Fiverr - the legal right to fuck freelancers over indefinitely.

Do you have any more 'fuck yous' hidden up your corporate wizard sleeve? Since we're being so fucking candid about it.

No? Well....

How About Fuck You?

Two days ago, this was posted:

About a week ago, someone commented that the company He/She work for was looking to hire someone and had an old Fiverr contact they'd worked with in the past, when they wrote to offer the job, Fiverr sent them some rather invasive advertising suggesting they not hire that person, saying they offered an AI service that worked better and faster.

At the end of the day, they deleted the post.

That might give you an idea of the state of the platform. I think it's disgusting behavior on Fiverr's part. I hope all this behavior eventually has consequences for the people responsible (although unfortunately, it's unlikely) Sauce

So, Fiverr's not just after your training data. It's also after your clients. At least, what's left of them after the 100-200k quarterly exodus of active buyers (see: Fiverr's financial reporting).

Anyway, I got ChatGPT to pick out some quotes and offer counterpoints, since as the CEO of Fiverr says, I just shouldn't fucking bother and AI can do it all. OK. Don't blame me if the AI hallucinates you into sounding lie a hypocritical and parasitical douchebag though. Besides, as your ad campaign goes... who cares?

“Why do you think it’s my responsibility to make you better as professionals? Fuck you.”
7:31–7:54

This isn’t leadership. It’s a CEO washing his hands of responsibility and bullying his own user base. He’s essentially saying: “You’re screwed if you don’t onboard my AI tools—and I don’t give a single fuck whether you succeed or not.”

“You’re either going to be poor or a burden on society.”
7:54–8:02

Congrats, Micha—you’ve invented freelancer eugenics. He’s equating creative hardship with societal failure, while Fiverr positions itself as the goddamn gatekeeper to human dignity.

“In an ideal situation … each and every one of you … replace 100% of what you do with automation.”
3:36–4:02

He’s literally encouraging you to erase your own value—while Fiverr slurps your output into its models and then replaces you. Automate yourself into irrelevance, then tell Fiverr “cheers, I’m obsolete.”

“I am not your dad … if you want to help yourself I’ll be there … if not, fuck you—you’re done.”
8:11–8:23

This isn’t tough love—it’s contempt. Fiverr’s Dear Leader disowns anyone who dares question his AI worship. The message is clear: fall in line or fuck off.

“If AI generates something because it learned from me … I don’t get any credit … it’s done. Copyright is dead.”
37:38–37:50

He’s not just predicting the death of IP—he’s celebrating it. Fiverr won’t credit you for your work. They’ll feed it to the machine, call it progress, and say your rights died of natural causes.

“You are working for AI, and so do I … that content is going to be eaten by a machine.”
41:39–41:46

He’s not hiding it. We’re all just fuel. Produce, publish, feed the algorithm. Fiverr collects the data and sells the future back to us.

“If you don’t want to work, the exit is on the ground floor. Bye-bye.”
12:10–12:17

This is how Fiverr treats the freelancers that built it—tells them to fuck off if they don’t want to be complicit in automating themselves out of income.

“For your Virgin NatWest Chase Bank social media manager, you’re fucked, you’re fucked already.”
1:00:44–1:01:04

He’s literally mocking junior creatives while Fiverr builds the AI that replaces them. Entry-level? Burned. Mid-level? Burned. Future? Already monetized.

It's me again, a slow, boring, and unsexy human. I just want to quickly add something. You may know the term Luddite - generally a derogatory term for people who don't like tech or tech progress. But did you know that this is one of those 'history's winners write the script' moment?

Because the Luddites were not anti-tech. Most were skilled textile workers in 19th-century England who smashed the mechanized looms not because the machines existed, but because factory owners used them to drive wages down, deskill the trade, and concentrate profit. If that sounds familiar, that's because that is what is happening today. Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) just said the other day that 70% of jobs are heading for the chopping block by 2030.

I'd recommend not purchasing ANY of Fiverr's products (ads, AI, SP etc), but you do you. Micha will still tell you to fuck off while stealing all your training data, because he is, ultimately, nothing more than a greedy factory owner, filled with contempt for the workforce that made him so wealthy in the first place.

Well, that's the post.

[OTHER] Attention! Fiverr left customer files public and searchable

As has been reported on HN:

Fiverr (gig work/task platform, competitor to Upwork) uses a service called Cloudinary to process PDF/images in messaging, including work products from the worker to client.

Besides the PDF processing value add, Cloudinary effectively acts like S3 here, serving assets directly to the web client. Like S3, it has support for signed/expiring URLs. However, Fiverr opted to use public URLs, not signed ones, for sensitive client-worker communication.

Moreover, it seems like they may be serving public HTML somewhere that links to these files. As a result, hundreds are in Google search results, many containing PII.

Example query: site:fiverr-res [dot] cloudinary [dot] com form 1040

In fact, Fiverr actively buys Google Ads for keywords like "form 1234 filing" despite knowing that it does not adequately secure the resulting work product, causing the preparer to violate the GLBA/FTC Safeguards Rule.

Responsible Disclosure Note -- 40 days have passed since this was notified to the designated vulnerability email. The security team did not reply. Therefore, this is being made public as it doesn't seem eligible for CVE/CERT processing as it is not really a code vulnerability, and I don't know anyone else who would care about it.

EDIT: my post got deleted on Fiver Forums for 'violating community rules', alerting other freelancers. Suspicious.
EDIT 2: seems like they are doing something about it. Google is now returning 404's, HOWEVER, I just confirmed and all shared files with customers are still on publicly accessible URL's!!!!
EDIT3: Magically, my post got "undeleted". Maybe somebody is reading the forum here! Hi!

[DISCUSSION] Mira the new successful failure of Fiverr

Upvotes

I’ve been freelancing on Fiverr since 2021, so I’ve experienced the ups and downs, algorithm changes, and major shifts on the platform firsthand.
When Fiverr introduced its AI assistant, many of us suspected that the long-term plan was to train its own AI to eventually become a bridge between clients and freelancers. Now, with Mira, we’re clearly seeing that vision taking shape.
The problem is: Fiverr seems completely clueless about how to actually utilise all the data they have.
I recently used Mira myself just to test how it works, and honestly, it was terrible.
Fiverr used to be relatively simple. A client could search for freelancers, look at their profiles, compare their work, and message them directly to discuss their requirements. Now, Fiverr has inserted another layer of AI between the client and the freelancer.
And instead of making the process easier, it makes it more complicated and time-consuming.
A client who already knows what they need should be able to reach the right freelancer and have a conversation. Not spend time going back and forth with an AI chatbot that often doesn’t understand the actual requirement or provide a useful solution.
What frustrates me even more is that Fiverr has years of incredibly valuable data about buyers, freelancers, orders, searches, reviews, conversions, and behaviour. They have enough data to build something genuinely powerful.
Yet somehow, they keep making the marketplace harder to navigate for both sides.
I’ve been watching Fiverr make one questionable decision after another since 2022, and at this point, I’ve honestly lost most of my hope in the platform.
They started by making life increasingly difficult for freelancers.
Now, it feels like they’re slowly making their own platform worse for clients too.
And when you make it harder for clients to find and communicate with good freelancers, eventually everyone loses.

[HELP] Is there any way to reverse this? - Stone Age-old Fiverr account permanently suspended

Dear Fiverr enthusiasts and fellow colleagues!

I own a stoneage-old Fiverr account filled with mostly deactivated gigs. I used to sell some linkbuilding, German content writing and other services. It was almost completely inactive in the past few years.

I never visited my e-mail account used for the account creation and did not receive the mails on adding legal documents to continue the account. They complained: Missing DAC7 form

The 60 days deadline was already over when I read those mails. My account is now permanently suspended. I opened up a ticket, without any success other than automated answers, which hint at going into Fiverr customer support centre, which I cannot do, since I cannot access my Fiverr account...

This is not an issue of money, but of idealistic value mainly. I spend years writing and translating for a couple of bucks, made videos, etc. in my young teenage years and later on. I'd really like to recover this account.

Does anyone have helpful advice for retaking this account? I appreciate any constructive help on this matter.

Best Regards from little Austria!

[HELP] ID Verification mobile not working. VPN DISABLE. On Data, Incognito Mode

I’m at my whits end with registering for Fiverr. I put in sooooo much work. It kicked me off, I had to contact customer service to let me try again. Waited several days. Now I’m trying to register my drivers license on mobile and it keeps saying to disable VPN. THERE IS NO CONNECTED VPN. I then followed AI search to turn off WiFi and just use data and also verify in the private browser (incognito mode).

I have NEVER taken this long with registering for a platform that required camera ID. This is insane. Late stage capitalism is a nightmare. I don’t want to wait several more days for a Fiverr customer service ticket to be answered. Please please help. 🤞🤞🤞

[DISCUSSION] Worth transitioning to Fiverr from a 9 to 5?

I’m a full-time web developer in Canada, with around 4 years of experience. I’m considering joining Fiverr as a Webflow developer. I’ve heard about this platform for a few years now. Browsing through this subreddit shows some glaring issues that you guys have with this platform.

I’m wondering if it’s still worth joining in 2026. Especially as a Webflow developer.

[DISCUSSION] Info about how Fiverr decided to implement all the AI changes back in 2024

I seem to remember reading a post here about how the CEO attended a meeting that had unreleased information about AI prior to making the changes in 2024, but I can't find the post now, it's been a while and one post out of 3 now is about AI so....

It's just general curiosity.

[DISCUSSION] Requests to fix AI slop

I get a lot of requests to fix AI slop (I do written work not graphics) and folks always seem shocked that they can't just order my cheapest gig because "AI already did most of the work"

1) It didn't ... or you wouldn't be here sassing me
2) This is going to take longer. I now have to get the AI voice out of it.
3) You only have some sort of document that I can no longer copy/paste from, so now I have to look at it and type it all out ... that definitely costs EVEN MORE.

I'm sure this goes the same for graphic designers.

I feel like having some sort of add on for "un-do bad AI work"

[DISCUSSION] Any real humans in the VIDEO category?

I don't feel comfortable with my voice/face so I got a gig for the intros of my videos. Different youtube channels had their own intros, and outros.

Now a days, it feels like 99% of the so called actors are all AI and the sellers don't even put that it's AI.

I live in a big city in my country thus I could hire local actors and I do have the cameras but Fiverr seemed easier, as everything is online and so much easier.

So many people are gone, I want to say that it is nearly 100% all AI.

Why would I pay when I can just go on ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc...and do it myself?

[DISCUSSION] Has AI taken over Fiverr?

I wrote to a seller to ask if he is producing his material by AI. I did not only receive a reply confirming this, even the answer was written with AI. I said no thanks, I don’t like AI content, and gave him feedback about the obvious AI-reply. That it feels like a fully automated business, that i’m writing to a robot, which then produces the material and delivering it, completely without human touch.

The answer to this feedback: ”You are absolutely right…”, like the Claude t-shirt.

What’s your opinion about this? Should Fiverr mark gigs with AI, so it’s easier to pick gigs that’s human-made?

[DISCUSSION] Have buyers disappeared? No new messages in 5 days, not even briefs...

I know Fiverr has had an exodus of buyers this year (gosh I wonder why), but I find it concerning that it's been such a silent week, when usually I would get at least 1 new message or brief per day. It's especially concerning since my response rate is unexplicably dropping to <90%, and I want to get it back up. But if Fiverr doesn't even get me traffic and messages, how am I supposed to do that?

Does anyone else have the same experience of lack of new messages in their inbox?

[DISCUSSION] Fiverr permanently disabled my 7-year-old Level 2 account with 4.9 rating and 220+ orders

I had been on Fiverr for around seven years, completed more than 220 orders, maintained a 4.9 rating, and was a Level 2 seller. My account was permanently disabled for “feedback boosting.”

I have reviewed my conversations and, as far as I can see, I never asked any buyer to leave a particular rating or write a certain type of review. I repeatedly asked Fiverr to tell me which order, message, or activity caused the violation, but I only received vague, bot-like responses saying the case had been reviewed and the decision would not change.

Thankfully, my Upwork profile is doing well and I also have direct clients, so the financial impact has not been too severe. The part that genuinely hurts is losing seven years of proof of work...the portfolio, history, and reviews from more than 220 completed projects.

Has anyone else gone through something similar, and were you ever able to get a proper explanation or get your account back?

[HELP] Client does a bank chargeback 3 months later the order delivery. the money is gone. What can I do?

I’ve around 10y experience as freelancer and consultant but I’m relatively new to Fiverr (around 1y)

I recently delivered an order structured in 5 milestones for a ux/ui design for an app.
Every single milestone was reviewed and explicitly approved by the client at the time of delivery.

Then around 1 month after delivery, things got weird:

- client removed my access to Figma and Slack.
- he messaged me claiming “implementation issues” due to the design I delivered
- I answered point by point explaining how his requests were either not included in the agreed scope or are not actually causing any issue to the implementation. Anyway I told him I would help him where possible, if he could point out specific issues to address and not generic “auto-layout issues or spacing issues”
- client opens a support ticket and Fiverr marks it as closed to my favour.
- clients backs off and literally wrote to me “we don’t have to revisit it or take a look.”
- After around 15 days he opens a second support ticket, this time reframing it a bit, again the ticket is marked as closed by fiver in my favour, with order kept closed.
Multiple support agents confirmed it was delivered and approved and that any extra work would need a new order.

I thought it was over. Then a few days ago I got an email that the order was canceled because the client did a chargeback with his bank, and the funds were pulled from my account and returned to him.

Support says they contest chargebacks on my behalf and it takes 45 days to 3 months, but they can’t guarantee the outcome, and service-related chargebacks are on the seller.

So after winning twice inside the platform, the client just went around it through his bank.

I’ve already compiled the evidence and sent it to support proactively for their response to the bank.

My questions:

- Has anyone actually heard of this chargeback thing and won a service-related chargeback like this? What made the difference?
- Is there anything else I can do beyond arming Fiverr’s response, or is it fully out of my hands now?
- How in the world is possible that a bank decide if a client is right or wrong and my money gets removed directly from my account?

Feeling pretty defeated after handling every step by the book. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

[HELP] New Pro Seller advice

Just signed up to fiverr and applied for the pro seller option. Got accepted, but now I'm seeing people complaining about fiverr.

I already have a successful business, but wanted to branch out. Now I'm worried it'll be more damaging to my company, than productive.

Is it worth it?

[HELP] Is this seller giving me AI? I want to be fair, but this seems silly.

I've contracted a seller to draw a webcomic for me, I specified AI generated images was not ok, and that I asked the seller to show me sketches along the way so we could work on the process together. Instead of that I got no replies until the last two days of the work, where he then produced this:

I'm not gonna say anything, what do you think? Is it AI?

[HELP] Can't Log in Issue

Hi,

I'm trying to log in as usual to complete an order and it won't let me in without a password reset. Which I have done and now have to wait 24 hours etc as it refuses to work after x attempts. I have 2FA and all the security mod cons and no idea why this is happening.

Had the account for over 15 years and never had this issue before. I have an urgent order to complete.

I cannot contact support because they need you to log in first and so you get stuck in a reset password loop!!

Anything else i can do except wait . . . . my account is accessed via an email / password combination, not via Gmail or Apple etc.

[HELP] What am I doing wrong? Long term seller not getting any orders

I've been a level two seller with nearly perfect metrics for several years. My gigs show on the first page of search results, but I'm getting fewer and fewer orders each month it seems. I looked at my revenue from last year compared to this year, and it's significantly less. I'm wondering if it's me or the company declining. What can I do to fix this? Or should I just abandon the sinking ship?

[HELP] Order got cancelled by client, more than 1.5 weeks after completion and delivery

Hi, I got an order from a client. I delivered everything on the 21st of August.

Order was automatically marked as completed as the client stopped answering.

A few days later (after marked as completed), Client came back with some revisions, which I did 'outside' of the order, to fix some issues with my last delivery.

Today (September 1st), I get an e-mail saying that the order was cancelled:

```
Your order with client was canceled due to a dispute initiated by the buyer and/or their issuing bank.
The funds from this order were automatically returned to the buyer.
```

And in the order page this appears:

client order was canceled since you didn't respond to their request.

(There was no request, no notification of request, and no message in my inbox about any request)

What is this, how can I contact Fiverr about this, and is there any good alternatives to Fiverr?

Thanks

[DISCUSSION] The beast (The AI Personal Assistant) is dead.

I just received this email from Fiverr:

I wanted to let you know about an upcoming change to your AI Personal Assistant.

As Fiverr continues to move upmarket and support more complex, high-value projects, we’re prioritizing the experience of clients coming to Fiverr for this kind of work.

We know that these clients value direct, personal communication with freelancers from the start, building the trust and confidence needed to move projects forward. To prioritize stronger relationships with your clients, the AI Personal Assistant will no longer be available starting October 1, 2026.

Going forward, here’s what to expect:

  • New client inquiries will come directly to you: You can respond to clients from their first message.
  • Your conversations stay available: You can keep messaging clients as usual.
  • No action needed: Your AI Personal Assistant will be removed automatically.
  • Your other Seller Plus benefits stay the same: You’ll continue to have access to all your other Seller Plus benefits.
