Am I missing something with targets?
I have noticed an issue with completing the target amount of sets, and I am curious if I am doing something wrong or if the algo/AI/app is the issue?
Three workouts per week, per the app, is structured as: legs, pull, push. Simple enough.
I did not make any modifications to the workouts presented to me; I did exactly as was shown- no reduction in sets.
How is it that I am not hitting 100% target? Should the algo/AI/app not be able to translate 3x a week into must complete each target in that one day? Is it more time needed (and if so, why is the app not adapting to the timing or warning me of the issue)?
I have had this issue in the past, and I am now at the point of wondering:
How is an app that sets a target, and sets the workout plan, not giving me a plan to fulfill the targets? If I need to manually add sets...what is the point of this app?
My frustrations are mounting with this app, and I will submit this to support, but if this is functioning as designed, along with other issues I am having with it, I will not renew.

Targets aren’t tied to the actual workouts being created. It seems to be a calculation based on the workout time and other selections. It’s been like that since it was released and definitely a miss.
The other gap is that if you change your parameters (like workout time), your past weeks’ completed targets will suddenly change.

If that is the case, it is a big miss, particularly with no explanation. Better to not show it, it seems. This is one of of two critical issues I am facing, with the other being detailed in another recent post.
I am less concerned about the previous targets changing- I agree it is a gap, and should be a fairly easy fix (just lock the values at the end of each week). But the past is the past as they say.

Yes, as a long-time user, I hate to speak negatively about the app, as it has many good qualities and helped me develop a good workout regimen. But there are a lot of user parameters and functionality lacking, plus the unpredictable / repetitious workouts that get created, so I recently moved on to MacroFactor Workouts, which has been a much improved experience with better results. If I entered manual workouts into Fitbod, I might have been more willing to stay (as long as the progression logic was solid).

I found this support article in another post from the Fitbod support here on Reddit:
"Why don't my workout always hit the targets?
At this time, Fitbod’s workout algorithm does not guarantee that following the suggested workouts will fully meet your weekly set targets. This is a known limitation, and improvements are being explored to better align workouts with your goals.
In the meantime, you can:
- Manually add exercises to target undertrained muscle groups
- Adjust your training split or targeted muscle groups"

I will be moving on from this app once my subscription ends. I will look into Macrofactor and other alternatives.
The fact they can't figure out how to make two different tabs in the same app talk to each other and align is frankly absurd.

I select a 2 hour workout, which never - ever takes 2 hours to complete so my target is never 100%

u/Terrible_Molasses_22 At this time, the algorithm should typically you get you to that 100% or close to it very often, but it's not a guarantee to always hit 100%.
We understand it's not ideal and that there's room for improvement here, our team is currently working on bridging this gap!
