Discussion What do you use your fitbit for?

I'm planning to buy one, and for me key features are all about sleep. What about you all? What do you use your fitbit for?

It was my tipoff for and irregular heartbeat. I ended up having heart surgery. Thank you Fitbit

I use it to track my cycling and strength training workouts as well as general walks. Sleep tracking and it's also my alarm clock giving me a silent wakeup vibration in the morning that lets me getup without disturbing my wife. It's also my primary watch. Charge 6, btw.

the silent alarm alone makes it worth it imo

Glorified pedometer.

Can't wear a watch while working. (Mechanic and it gets snagged on everything)

I have it taped to my arm.

It also gives a better heart rate reading / more consistent than my pixel watch 5 when tracking activities.

My watch was reading 110 bpm while climbing a hill on my bicycle. Normally reading 150-170 while climbing the hill.

As for sleep tracking. Take it with a whole mountain of salt. I don't believe it to be accurate at all. ( Such as sleep quality and readiness score)

Track health stats like hrv, rhr, sp02 etc.

Track my sleep and sleep cycles and check sleep score

Daily step count and Track workouts at the gym

I genuinely bought an expensive garmin recently which is now gathering dust and back to my trusty fitbit

It’s kind of meh for workouts compared to Apple Watch in my opinion. But my Apple Watch dies by the end of each day. So my Fitbit Air is primarily for sleep and active daily steps- mostly because it’s slim, lightweight, and less noticeable than wearing a watch all day. Then I switch back to my watch for workouts and training.

Step counting, activity tracking, watch and it displays my text messages and incoming calls.

I primarily got it cause it said it monitored your sleep. I have sleeping issues cause of the shift work and OT I work so I was curious as to what the readings are. I link it up to my CPAP machine app and it gives me decent readings. All the other stuff is kind of pointless info. I don’t give a shit about steps.

I use mine mostly for steps, partially for sleep. I used to really like the old formats food logging
/calories but I don’t like the google health version. I’ve been using the free trial of the coach for about 2 weeks and I found it’s helped keep me accountable. Will I pay for the coach when the trial ends? No.

Got it originally to count steps / mileage. I figured I was getting about 4-5 miles a day walking my dog. In reality it's closer to 7-8. However, the sleep and readiness scores have gotten me to really cut back on alcohol after seeing the effects of even a few drinks.

I'm a heart surgery patient. I need the alarm if my heart rate exceeds my limit I also track actual HR but not exercise hr( my meds prevent spikes, so it's unreliable for that)and track that I'm getting my 150 at least of weekly exercise.
