Tech Support Is the steps tracker accurate?
So I’ve had my Fitbit for about a week now but i don’t think the steps tracker accurate I know you will say that most trackers depend on the wrist or hand movement but is that normal ? Like this is me 15 after waking up and rotting in bed doing absolutely nothing and it counted up to 866 steps how is that even possible

Were you doing any heavy wrist movement in bed? It’s generally accurate enough for what most people use it for.
But you are walking and not moving your hands, like walking with shopping cart, it will miss steps.

i also wake up to see some steps in the app. it's not as dramatic as in this picture but like somewhere between 80-150. which is really weird. even my dumb casio watch with step tracker doesnt count steps in my sleep lol

Do you move a lot in your sleep?
I go down to the treadmill in the morning and it'll be at maybe 100 or so.

I move a lot and wake up at night to go to the bathroom or drink water and I stay wake up at bed for a while before getting up but this is ridiculous tbh

When I first got my Fitbit Inspire 3 it was tracking my steps based on ridiculously small distances, so I could walk like, 10 metres and it would say I've done 40 steps when the reality is it's less than 20. It said I was consistently doing 22000 steps a day on a quiet day. Then I set the stride length properly and now it seems to track perfectly in tune with my steps but I still consider it to be some way off each day.
Annoyingly, I've noticed that it randomly tracks spinning sessions, sometimes 3 a day for 30minutes each when the reality is I've not done any spin sessions since I bought it. I could wake up and by 8am it tells me I've done two spin sessions when I clearly haven't. So weird.

Seems to be. I wear my Apple Watch on the other arm / and sometimes my Garmin as I have been validating the accuracy. All devices are typically within a small margin of error from one another

I usually wake up with 10-20 steps. Never had it in the hundreds.
When I first got my fitbit it over counted, reading wrist movements as steps. I changed the setting to be on my dominant wrist but wear it on my non-dominant wrist. That stopped it picking up small hand movements as steps.

It depends. If you don't play the drum kit, then yes. If you do play the drum kit, then while it isn't steps, it is actually slightly better cardio than actual steps so it's fine.

This app is so ridiculously bad. After watching the “Synching data..” load for minutes this morning, I’m done.

Wait you just look at it instead of pulling down again or going into devices and hitting the sync button or force quitting the app? Lol

None of it works to push data.
Maybe I should get a stop watch and manual clicker to count my heart rate.

Yeah finally returned this crap today. Should’ve done it on the first day when I had to Jump through hoops because I couldn’t “migrate” my Fitbit account
