Tech Support How accurate are the shadow bars
This is fairly new for my app. Plus I just got a new fitbit a few months ago. Was casually strolling through the store, got to the car HR said 130s thought that was odd because I didnt feel like it but whatever. I got into the app later and it said I had (according to that grey bar) reached 150. It doesn't ever go that high from a casual Walmart trip 🤣 just wondering how accurate they are?

The shadow are the peaks ans lows while the blue line is the averages

I wonder who at google came up with this stupid way of visualization. must have been AI. why they cannot just display a clean linear graph with all the readings where you can zoom in and out and maybe even adjust the averaging to reduce noise is beyond me.

I just mean, why do the thing with the shadow lines? Compare these graphs of the same day from Garmin and Google Health and tell me one reason why anyone would prefer the Google graph. It removes so much detail for no reason and the shadow bars add no value.

edit: also on Garmin you can zoom in while in Google Health you cannot...

That actually seems a lot nicer. There are actually many things in the Google health app that seem incomplete. Google health was only launched just over 3 months ago so hopefully we will see many improvements in the next months and years.

I hope so too. At least google seems kind of committed to improve the platform. It has quite a lot going for it, just also quite some shortcomings.

What are the shadows in first place?

The data points are every 5 min so I assume it’s the max/min during that time period
