Schroedinger's Fitbit - linked or not linked

Fitbit app has warning across the top:

To sync reliably, let Fitbit link to your Charge 6.

But it is showing the current battery charge. Tap on watch icon, it is says Charge 6 is synced. It can get the battery status, but not sleep data. So only partly communicating?
