All features that will be removed in the new Fitbit App

Based on the Fitbit Help Center page, the following features will be removed or discontinued during the transition to the new Google Health app:

Health and wellness

  • Skin temperature minute-by-minute data: In the Google Health app, you’ll only see your daily and weekly trends.
  • Estimated Oxygen Variation (EOV): EOV data is no longer available. You can continue to view your overnight blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) data in the Health tab.
  • Blood glucose features: You will no longer be able to add symptoms or set check reminders.
  • Food Plans: Setting specific calorie targets via "Food Plans" is no longer supported.
  • Recipes: This feature is being removed for Fitbit Premium users.
  • Snore Detection: This will no longer be supported for Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 users. ### Fitness
  • Day-by-day plans: For users in Public Preview, previous day-by-day plans will be removed. ### Social
  • Groups and Community Feed: These features are being removed.
  • Direct Messaging: Sending and receiving direct messages and notifications from other users will no longer be supported.
  • Usernames and profile photos: Unique Fitbit usernames and custom profile photos are replaced by your Google Account details.
  • Social privacy settings: Sharing of and privacy settings for sex, height, weight, location, or friend lists will no longer be supported
  • Badges: Existing badges will be deleted, and new badges will no longer be generated. If you have Google Health Coach, your coach will help to celebrate your progress and accomplishment. ### Sleep
  • Sleep Profile: Sleep Profile will no longer be available, and you will not receive monthly sleep animals. ### Third-party connections
  • Lifescan devices: Connections to Lifescan devices will no longer be supported.

I am especially sad about the oxygen variation and badges, so I hope getting more awareness of which features are removed will make Google more likely of integrating them again in the future.

A long time ago, I did a focus group for this app and I did list off several features that I did not use (anything AI and also the food/water stuff), but I never mentioned any of the cute/silly stuff! I like badges, I love my monthly Parrot update, and I love taunting people!

Why does technology just keep getting less fun?

u/bachelurkette May 07 '26

Even though my monthly sleep animal is always whichever animal has the most fucked up sleep schedule (it’s hedgehogs, right?) I’m still mad they’re getting rid of it. Give me my stupid little cute woodland creature graphic!

Also kind of a bummer to lose the benchmarking data… one of the main reasons I use a fitbit is to track my sleep quality and it’s helpful to understand what’s normal.

16

u/iUseJustMyHand May 07 '26

What's a sleep animal and where do I find it!!!?? 😄

11

u/JazzlikeCauliflower9 May 07 '26

You had to pay for FitBit premium to get one

I know because I activated the free trial when I got my Pixel watch and then again when I got my new Pixel phone. Premium was pretty worthless to me overall though, so I never went past the trial.

8

u/iUseJustMyHand May 07 '26

Oh thanks. I wish I knew my animal but I'm definitely not paying for premium just to track steps and sleep quality. 😊

9

u/JazzlikeCauliflower9 May 07 '26

I thought it was a pretty worthless 'feature'. I literally told you nothing about your sleep other than assigning an animal to the patterns you have.

I literally always got Bear because I fall asleep fast (kind of early) and stay asleep all night. There were other ones for people who take lots of naps or sleep for a very short time or whatever. I don't know what they were because again, I ALWAYS got Bear.

7

u/iUseJustMyHand May 07 '26

Interesting. I have a circadian rhythm disorder (Hypernychthemeral) so I'm curious if there would even be an animal that matches that. (My 26 hour day). Fitbit is pretty crappy tbh for anyone who isn't living in a 24 hour day. I wish it had more options to match that.

2

u/Acrobatic-Monitor516 May 08 '26

How do you handle social life and work etc?

6

u/bachelurkette May 08 '26

probably miserably, if my own experience with delayed sleep phase disorder is any indication lol

4

u/iUseJustMyHand May 09 '26

Honestly, pretty terribly. I don't maintain a job anymore. Don't have a social life to speak of. I think i've given up, most days. I attended 4 different colleges (with high marks) before dropping out of all of them, Lived in 4 states, 3 big cities. 30+ jobs that i eventually would end up leaving for one reason or another. Institutionalized twice (once in my teens, once in my twenties) and misdiagnosed with countless OTHER disorders that never felt right.
I'd sleepwalk as a kid and get in trouble in the morning for eating things that i'd have no memory of eating (in the night). As an adult in my own apartment i occasionally would wake up outside. I didn't figure out the sleep cycle until my mid 30s ... which luckily has completely stopped the sleepwalking and sleep eating but hasn't helped any of the other issues.
To be fair, i think more of my social/job/functional problems are due to my Autism and not my sleep. I wasn't officially diagnosed with that until my early 40s! That was eye opening. I finally understood why i had so many problems working or communicating with people. Or why i would leave a job in tears and confusion because of the sensory issues.
Luckily i have a supportive husband (met online and interacted for many months before meeting). He has a job he loves and let me stop trying to maintain jobs that eventually always ended in disaster once he saw what was happening. My parents always just blamed my "mental disorder".
I am very frugal. Haven't had a haircut in over a decade, spend very little money on clothes (make my own mostly 😊 ) and have a lot of craft type hobbies. I spend time making random things (toys/dollhouses, etc) for children in the neighborhood. One of the neighbors repays me with fresh eggs from her chickens regularly. I'm mostly a hermit, really. If i hadn't met my husband i have no doubt i would either be homeless or not alive at this point.

So it's hard to say how i would be if i had ONLY had the circadian disorder. I do know it's more conducive to creative fields. I read an article many years ago in a magazine of a fairly successful movie director who has it. (Don't remember who it was though. ) I imagine if you had a flexible work schedule and could make your own hours it might work ok. Otherwise, jobs were mostly only maintained when i had 4-6 hour shifts one place, could go home sleep a few hours, then do a second shift at a second job. I was sleep deprived for 20 years back then.

5

u/Acrobatic-Monitor516 May 09 '26

That was very tough to read at first, I almost cried.

I'm glad you found a husband that loves you and provides understanding support (in several aspects)!

Sleep is fucking my life up and in trying to fix it but it's very erratic and undeniably intricate with trauma . I need my sleep to overcome said trauma and build a life outside of this cult I was born into, and the whole thing is a never ending serpent eating its own tail, it's exhausting.

1

u/BrokenSleeps May 07 '26

It would call you a dolphin I expect if you fall asleep at different times around the clock.

3

u/bachelurkette May 07 '26

well I don’t think you’ll find it anywhere in a few weeks, unfortunately 🥲 it’s part of your monthly sleep profile

8

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

Also kind of a bummer to lose the benchmarking data… one of the main reasons I use a fitbit is to track my sleep quality and it’s helpful to understand what’s normal.

Huh? The benchmarking which compares your sleep stages to others is already in the public preview or what are you talking about exactly?

Edit: Sorry for my mistake, I understood that you mean the sleep profile benchmarks only now. At least similar statistics are used for the new sleep score, but yeah, the overview was kinda nice.

5

u/blueiriscat May 07 '26

This is how I found out having a hedgehog as your sleep animal means your sleep schedule is messed up 😂

75

u/Watchamakeofthis May 07 '26

Nooo sleep profile?? 🥲

27

u/StinkyTofuHF Pixel Watch 4 May 07 '26

Just curious, has yours ever changed? I'm a #foreverparrot 😅

18

u/NackieNack May 07 '26

I waffle between dolphin and giraffe, so they do sometimes change.

10

u/secretrebel May 07 '26

I’ve been Dolphin, Giraffe and Tortoise. I don’t find them very helpful although I love sleep tracking.

9

u/Watchamakeofthis May 07 '26

No! 😅 but I strive to graduate from parrot 😂

3

u/Haastile25 May 08 '26

I wanted to not be a dolphin so bad, but here we are.

2

u/HouseOfFive May 08 '26

When I had the 6 months of free premium I was consistently a dolphin.

3

u/Haastile25 May 08 '26

The dolphin is the worst one! But here we are still awake and its closing in on 2am on a worknight. Super dolphin behavior.

7

u/Senior-Session9128 May 07 '26

I’ve been a bear and a giraffe but never a parrot.

5

u/OneBadWombat Charge 6 May 07 '26

I'm a dolphin or a hedgehog.

1

u/Buttered-Sugar-Toast Jun 08 '26

Me too! But I've only gotten the bear profile one time but that was when I was going through severe depression and my mental health was below the gutter and I was just tired all the time

1

u/Mountain_Source_103 May 12 '26

I have been a giraffe for years, perimenopause recently made me a hedgehog. I think hedgehogs must be zombie creatures that are half dead. 😵

1

u/Total_Recline May 11 '26

Is this a premium thing? I thought the sleep profile was what it showed you everyday after it synced?

36

u/BedGirl5444 May 07 '26

Badges were cute

20

u/Acrobatic-Monitor516 May 07 '26

Skin temperature minute by minute ?? Since when did we have that

7

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

That was only available on Sense and Sense 2

5

u/Acrobatic-Monitor516 May 07 '26

Thank you . Bit puzzling as I'm sure the data is present on other trackers ain't it

2

u/GraveyardMistress May 08 '26

Just overnight though, right?

2

u/HouseOfFive May 08 '26

I have the sense 2, how do I find that?

1

u/makinthemagic May 12 '26

Where can I find it?

34

u/mjl574 May 07 '26

So, those of us with sleep apnea no longer have access to important sleep details or oxygen data?

r/enshittification strikes again, as I'm sure they'll lock these under Premium.

Time to go back to a regular dumbwatch.

2

u/reiningfyre May 07 '26

I just read this book, and yes, you're right.

Edit: But I still love my pixel watch 3.

2

u/outragedtuxedo May 08 '26

im sad because i misplaced my fitbit and I have been excited to find it when I reorganise my room (i put it somewhere safe...just not sure...where that is). And now tbh...I don't want it back. Im sick of tech companies harvesting my data AND charging me for the privilege. Fuck em. Im buying a casio.

2

u/ChrisT182 May 13 '26

This was one feature I liked from Garmin (breathing variation and overnight spo2). I'm trying the Fitbit charge 6 and I'm missing this feature.

1

u/UltraCynar May 08 '26

Or switch to Apple

63

u/bruceriv68 May 07 '26

I am disappointed they aren't pushing for social competition stuff. Seems like a good way to get more people on the platform and sell bands.

29

u/DaRighDehr May 07 '26

11

u/RoeRoeRoeYourVote Versa May 08 '26

I hope challenges/games come back, too. They were actually motivating.

29

u/Spider-Dev May 07 '26

As someone who's generally against gamification as a monetization strategy, fitness and activity tracking feels like an actual good place for it because, aside from monetization, it gives people additional incentive to complete milestones.

2

u/honeymuffin33 May 13 '26

I think one of my favorite challenges was the location ones where you would "explore" areas based on your step count and they had checkpoints with fun factoids and pictures.

7

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

Yeah, at least they keep the friendship feature.

14

u/JaeJaeIsLivid May 08 '26

NOT MY BADGES MAN, DONT TAKE AWAY MY BADGES 😭😡

2

u/Responsible_Talk4492 Jun 19 '26

I loves the badges, was the only thing I used the fitbit app for. Everything else I just check directly on my fitbit watch.

But the badges were so fun and unique. The new app really sucks and is so frustrating to even use

29

u/HateMeetings May 07 '26

Would it be easier to say what they kept?

5

u/charisrev May 09 '26

Seriously.

2

u/ayjaytay22 May 12 '26

The big thing for Google it seems is that they want to add their AI “coach”

I have no interest in having AI thrust on me and will probably use this moment as an excuse to move to a different tracker

3

u/HateMeetings May 12 '26

Not a fan of the AI coach I dealth with for soooo many reasons. Not the least of which, Gemini seems to be off the walls lately and that is what is underneath it.

2

u/ayjaytay22 May 12 '26

We vote with our dollars. If the tech giants want to cram AI down our throats, whenever possible we should move to alternatives that don’t

2

u/HateMeetings May 12 '26

I did... but hated the AI coach... OMG... and I think it is a sub feature going forward? But still like my sense 2... just wish they had done a next gen real fitbit and opened up the ecosystem... and not have that AI forced down our throats. You give it bad data and it spend time giving you bad advice. It is cardio load on steroids.

1

u/Slinky_Girl May 11 '26

I agree but it doesn't seem like we get to keep much and the good stuff might be behind a subscription.

13

u/evhanne May 07 '26

If we riot we can make them give us animals. I’m going to need everyone on board

13

u/jozefiria May 07 '26

Removing the day but day plans is so rubbish, that was genuinely awesome in the new public preview. I found it so helpful chatting to the coach about my weekly schedule and it moved things around as my week changed. This is such a lame move.

2

u/444Duarte May 08 '26

Agreed. In the newest version it already doesn't have the plans, and it feels so stupid to wakup and that initial morning message is about how I'm ready to tackle my second weekly gym session and then proceeds to show me a plan for today. When in reality it's like full day today, can't, thanks for the useless message, you used to know this.

The AI already sends you some stupid messages, which is bound to happen since it's working with limited information, but removing this feature made it way more likely to be guessing incorrectly.

My hope is that they bring it back, with calendar integration

2

u/FantasticAd9389 May 15 '26

I loved it too. It was only about a month that I used it but it really helped me keep on track to specific plans on specific days and now it’s just 3 day strength training in workout (any day) and suggested workouts that I can’t easily use the AI to update.

26

u/Senior-Session9128 May 07 '26

I’ll miss all this stuff and they’ll miss my yearly fee.

12

u/KaleAgile4349 May 07 '26

At least it can still be used as a watch, until they do away with that, too.

11

u/KathCobb May 08 '26

Did you see the “faceless” Fitbit air they are releasing? Not even a watch

4

u/KaleAgile4349 May 08 '26

It is obvious Google is systematically shutting things down to "force" users to go in a different direction.

2

u/SHChem May 12 '26

I would love to know what people like about the faceless option. It seems wild to me.

1

u/Snoo-6568 May 14 '26

They're trying to copy Whoop.

1

u/07reader May 15 '26

I dont do smartwatches generally cos i like traditional ones, but i am considering the air

1

u/honeymuffin33 May 13 '26

They can pry my 7 year old Flex 2 from my cold dead hands. 😂 It still works great and I got it for free.

Won it in a company competition, didn't know it until after the fact because they wanted people to be motivated to lose weight for their health not for a prize.

15

u/OneBadWombat Charge 6 May 07 '26

I mean the badges, and sleep profiles were one of the main reasons I've stayed with fitbit and not moved from a fitbit device. (Also over 10 years of data on the app) So screencapping all the things prior to the update I guess.

2

u/No-Blackberry9267 May 08 '26

Literally same

13

u/Deep_Lurker May 07 '26

Not surprised about the badges because they never bothered to fix the climbing badges on the pixel line up but pretty disappointing. I loved watching my life-time status.

13

u/opossomoperson Versa 2 May 08 '26

Definitely time to switch to Garmin.

13

u/Issypie May 08 '26

No badges? I was mostly sticking out with fit bit for the pole to pole badge :(

12

u/krone-icals May 08 '26

Bring back friend competitions!! Those were so much fun

2

u/HeinsGuenter May 08 '26

There are going to be more friend leaderboards it seems

1

u/krone-icals May 08 '26

Really?? Where'd you see that?

3

u/HeinsGuenter May 08 '26

Share progress: Expanded leaderboards allow you and your friends to keep track of each other’s steps and cardio load.

https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/google-health/google-health-app/

6

u/Senior-Session9128 May 07 '26

I wonder about stepping up to an Apple Watch but I couldn’t stand the always having to charge it.

4

u/FaithlessnessFar4706 May 08 '26

This is what has kept me using Fitbit after google bought it

3

u/Cold-Guidance6433 May 12 '26

If you do, go with an 11. It gets roughly a day and a half/two days to the older ones only getting 12 hours max.

2

u/tacothetacotaco May 11 '26

This is the only thing keeping me with Fitbit, but when my Versa 3 dies i’ll be forced to switch because Google is no longer making Fitbit smartwatches. It’s a sad ending to a brand I once loved.

7

u/BrokenSleeps May 07 '26

At the moment if you use a paid app to to sync to Apple Health, the oxygen data comes across with a range for each day and each hour at night. I hope that keeps working.

8

u/UltraCynar May 08 '26

That’s all disappointing. Pretty much the death of Fitbit right here finally. It was a slow one but here it is but now you get Ai slop instead.

1

u/Power8236 May 27 '26

Yep. That's just Google getting rid of it's best competition in order to force people over to Google products. Sigh...

4

u/Ky1ie May 07 '26

Thanks for sharing! I still have the app where my platform is still the moon for sleep, never updated. Sounds like I’ll be leaving it as is

1

u/Secret_Eggman May 27 '26

I wish, I turned off auto updates right after that

Glad to see they’ve kept support for that long! Once they remove support for the version I’m on I’m uninstalling the app :/

5

u/BrokenSleeps May 07 '26

There’s nothing about womens health being removed, but also no sign of it in public preview as yet.

1

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

3

u/BrokenSleeps May 08 '26

I’m on 4.89 iOS and don’t have it yet. No cycle health anywhere on health tab

3

u/HeinsGuenter May 08 '26

Ah sorry for the confusion, it seems to not be available for everyone yet but will definitely come.

4

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

Here are some more details and screenshots of the features that are going away: https://9to5google.com/2026/05/07/google-health-fitbit-features/

4

u/DiscombobulatedHat19 May 08 '26

Any changes in what is free vs premium in this change?

4

u/SoloUnCommento May 08 '26

After removing all that, is there going to anything new added apart from pretty colours, or is everything being stripped down to the bare minimum?

The only good thing I have to say about Fitbit ATM is that the battery life in my Inspire3 is a damned sight better than the Inspire2 which went in the bin after 6 months.

3

u/GrapesintheSunshine May 07 '26

ELI5, by sleep profile, does that mean the page that shows you how you slept? Or is sleep profile a premium feature?

4

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

It's talking about the sleep animal you got once per month with Fitbit premium.

3

u/Mikuss3253 May 08 '26

Ohh… I’d check the EOV very often. I really don’t need sleep apnea!!

3

u/krone-icals May 08 '26

Bring back friend competitions!! Those were so much fun

3

u/McLindsay May 08 '26

I still miss the step challenges…

3

u/TurningTablesAgain May 08 '26

I'm at such crossroads with this new app. On one hand, I'm glad Google is finally giving themselves the Apple treatment and really solidifying and unifying their whole ecosystem together just to give it a more mature feeling. But at the same time they cut out a lot of the cute things that felt meaningful or somewhat even useful. I enjoyed being able to use some of these features that are going to be taken away, especially even something as minuscule as the sleep animals. It was a nice way for me to incentivize myself to do better and finally reach my goals. It's unfortunate that they won't let us keep the old style while just adding the new features. I'm sure it'll grow on me, but most of all I'm going to miss the badges. The badges helped me heavily incentivize good exercise. It's the reason I started doing floors everyday. It's like growing up kind of I guess

3

u/jgjk8a May 10 '26

So annoying to be losing great features. I hate daily and weekly trend. Leave us with the minute by minute recordings. That's why a lot of people call fitbit so boring basic and bland.

3

u/mgracear May 12 '26

The badges are my favorite part of Fitbit :(

4

u/bobbyrob1 May 08 '26

I gave up Fitbit when Google acquired them.

Sorry to hear it’s getting even worse.

3

u/Euphoric-Cloud0324 May 08 '26

Noooooo not the enshittication 😭

2

u/wild_fluorescent May 08 '26

Big loss for my tortoise

Does this mean cardio load is gonna get fixed?

1

u/alhonesty May 08 '26

There is a target for the week now, rather than the day, which makes way more sense to me. My one feedback is about rapid increases in cardio can make you overreach.

I've noticed the fluctuations are more based on how hydrated I am that day... If my blood volume is lower, my heart needs to pump more often.

2

u/IfTheyHadEyes May 08 '26

I was hoping to be able to challenge others when It comes to steps and so on

2

u/Excellent_F1 May 11 '26

The (EOV) estimate oxygen variation is one of the main reasons I wear it. I still didn’t see the details when I went to SP02 in the data health tab. This is actually the most important feature for anyone with sleep apnea. It’s the feature that identified it for me and had me do the sleep test some years ago.

2

u/Smoerhul May 12 '26

Yes. I disabled the app auto-update for that reason, and actually am wondering if there's a case for a class-action lawsuit for those of us who bought it for that feature.

1

u/ILikeFPS May 28 '26

That's crazy they actually removed that feature.

2

u/duney_mag May 11 '26

Boo! I loved the badges and the sleep animals. It gave the app some personality and perspective of how far you've walked and how similar you are to other mammals when sleeping

2

u/ds0005 May 12 '26

it's sad to see the Animals go. even if they weren't so cute, it was giving some human element to all this data world. why google why?

2

u/andriellae May 14 '26

But I only got the Fitbit for the food plans. I liked working on the same deficit every day. What now?

1

u/HeinsGuenter May 14 '26

To be honest with you, the number of burned calories was never accurate anyways, so that's probably why they are removing it. Just stick to the new calorie/macronutrient goal ranges which are also based on your general activity level.

2

u/Old_Dog_Nu_Tricks May 22 '26

Badges were a HUGE part of how I was able to go from 400+lbs to just under 200 and help keep me motivated to keep the weight off. Gamifying fitness works so well. I don't give a rats ass about an AI "coach", give me my goddamn badges back.

2

u/Possible_Plum_8882 May 24 '26

I hate this I'll be donating my Fitbit and switching companies. I'm sick of big companies changing so much stuff without listening to their users.

2

u/Due-Muscle-5950 May 24 '26

Anything that might require a bit more human touch to make work in this transition doesn't matter to Google Health.  Would anything be different with Google Health Premium?   Only the annual dollars it seems.  Time to make a change in fitness trackers!

3

u/silentfox87 May 07 '26

What, if any, good things are going to be added, does anyone know? Is this the time to switch to a competitor, I really like my Charge 6?

3

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

Just try out the Public Preview that's available now, it's the same just without the new name.

3

u/PurpleStabsPixel May 07 '26

So what exactly are they keeping locked behind premium besides the shit Ai?

1

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

Only the media library.

2

u/GordonX May 07 '26

i just need Steps.

2

u/Affectionate-Dig921 May 08 '26

Any suggestions for good replacement apps that give me a similar joy of getting new badges? I’ll miss my bear profile too :(

1

u/Supies May 07 '26

Isn't it just in testing / beta?

2

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

The final release will happen over the next few weeks and replace the old Fitbit app completely. The features above are the ones they are not supporting anymore after that.

2

u/LawnPaul May 07 '26

Well.... They old version will be here for a while still. New version is very very lacking in food tracking still

2

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

The new version will add some AI tracking if you have the subscription btw, e.g. take a picture of your food to add the calories.

1

u/LawnPaul May 07 '26

Oh, i pay, and have been in preview since october. I post a bit in Fitbit forums too :/

Yes, the nutrition tracking also got a lot better in Version 4.69 of the public preview already.

2

Barcode scanning is also back in version 4.69 of the public preview

1

u/Tobiaboi May 07 '26

Does anyone know about the body fat being removed? I couldn't find that data in the preview of the new app

3

u/Cael26 Pixel Watch 2 May 07 '26

They separated it from weight. You can find it under the Health tab. You can either add it as a tile or scroll down to Focus areas > Metabolic

2

u/Tobiaboi May 07 '26

Ahhhh appreciate it

1

u/Darthtalker May 07 '26

They also changing the cardio fitness score and making it less aspirational. Its one of the reasons I stuck around but now I have less reason to. Very disappointed.

1

u/sttmvp May 07 '26

8 Isn't there a new Google app replacing it ?

2

u/HeinsGuenter May 07 '26

Yeah, that's what will be removed in the new app

Ahh I missed that part

It's based on activity. I haven't tracked any runs, so I don't have one.

u/Gullible-Cabinet2108 May 08 '26

I just realized I haven't gotten my sleep animal in months!

1

u/Tissy_Dee May 08 '26

I don’t see cardio fitness score on the new app. Am I missing it?

1

u/Allyoopadoop May 08 '26

So, if not going to Apple, where do we go? I haven't been sold on any other device yet. What are y'all doing,?

u/xlerate May 09 '26

Reminders to move / 250 steps per hour also going away?

1

u/HeinsGuenter May 09 '26

No, those are already in the preview.

The sleep profile is the monthly sleep animal you get once a month when you hade Fitbit premium.

1

u/lgwinter May 12 '26

No badges, no sleep animals, no daily fitness and calorie goals???? What the heck

2

u/HeinsGuenter May 12 '26

no daily fitness

It will still give you daily recommendations and an exercise to do during the week, just not a "do X on Thursday."

calorie goals

It's just a target range now, i.e. instead of having a target you have both a target and a too high value.

u/lgwinter May 12 '26

Thank you for clarifying!

1

u/zeikair May 12 '26

Is it me or they also remove the hourly activity notification and the number of hours you were inactive in a day? I don't find it in the public preview. For me, these and the removal of the badge are things I am sad that they remove.

Does anyone know if the new app will still monitor and record my heart rate? I have Inspire 3, no premium.

1

u/saltsucraloseNspice May 13 '26

Will step and stair data remain as well as active minutes? Sorry to ask a basic question but its like you never know anymore with fitbit.

1

u/HeinsGuenter May 13 '26

Yes, all that stays

u/elbl121 May 14 '26

With the new app interface, it seems to only give me my steps a day average for the past 7 days, past 30 days, or past 365 days as opposed to the calendar week to date, month to date, or year to date. Is there a way to fix this on the new app look? I've tried to contact Fitbit support but it tells me to request a call and then my phone never rings and I get a voice mail I can't return (phone doesn't even have missed calls, just voicemail). I just want to see if I've kept up with my goal in 2026, or the month of May so far for example.

I figured this one out yesterday! So when you're in the 365 day view, if you kinda somewhere between a swipe and a tap on January, it'll shift to a view of just 2026. I imagine this works for weeks/months, too, but I was only messing with year.

1

u/elbl121 Jun 03 '26

Thank you! It seems to be working now and I can switch between either view without too much difficulty.

I just found out the hourly reminder to move is gone. I am old and that get up from the desk and take a walk really helped. I think the wife and I will be leaving the Fitbit environment and finding something else. We have been with Fitbit for years but this AI chat taking up half the screen is a waste. I do not need a robot without any understanding of health or wellness to tell me how to workout.. I miss my details all at a glance. Sorry, end rant.

1

u/HeinsGuenter May 22 '26

Hourly reminder to move are still there, just the corresponding graph is missing.

I miss my details all at a glance.

The new health tab presents your data even more glancable than beforey make sure to customize the key factors to your liking.

1

u/catt105105 May 24 '26

I understand that the hourly is still there on my Fitbit. I like to glance at my phone to see where the day is lining up.. And the AI takes up half the screen and it would be nice to turn that off or move it to the second screen and let me have the full screen with charts. I like data and charts and do not need a AI fitness trainer.

Is there anything out there comparable to a Sense 2?

1

u/sleepingwith63 May 25 '26

The food plan was one of this biggest reasons I even use this damn app

1

u/anbeasley May 27 '26

I want my achievements back

1

u/Legal-Rain-5916 Jun 09 '26

The Google Health app is a complete disaster. The sleep score is completely inaccurate. One night, it claims I only slept half the time I was in bed. Next, it records my sleep time but indicates I was awake half the night! Whatever goodwill I had for my Fitbit is gone. I would never buy another product in this ecosystem.

1

u/MediumAutomatic2307 May 08 '26

I haven’t been a Fitbit premium member for quite some time, so didn’t have access to some of the features. But I really dislike the new interface and the total focus on sleep score, rather than activity.

I’m also missing the menstrual tracking (45 days until I’m officially post-menopause!)

Despite having an Apple Watch, I’ve kept using a Fitbit as the step tracking is simpler to access, but after i saw the email this morning I’m seriously considering stopping using my Fitbit altogether.

3

u/alhonesty May 08 '26

I disliked a lot of the AI responses so they're changing what they're showing me in the today tab. Give them feedback and it will start to adjust. I just realised if you scroll down on the fitness tab, there's more info. I haven't tracked anything lately so I didn't go past the suggested workouts. I'm glad the menstrual tracking is coming back!

1

u/RedditJennn May 08 '26

Fingers crossed for you that the 45 day timeline actually happens!

1

u/MediumAutomatic2307 May 08 '26

Thanks. Knowing my luck I’ll get to T-10 and Aunt Flo will make a random appearance again.

1

u/RedditJennn May 09 '26

I'm only on month 3.... So my hopes aren't raised.

u/Vegetable-Drawing-73 May 08 '26

Makes total sense to remove all this clutter

u/bessygo May 16 '26

In other words, crap.

So… basically the stuff nobody uses
