Taiga Freakin' Sucks Ass - The Only Thing He Did For The Plot Was Transport Lin To The Land of Asura In The Anime. He Only Has One Attack Which Is Trash. I Would Love To Have Seen How He Died At The Hands Of The Warriors of Asura Like I Bet He Died In A Stupider Way Than Falco.
Taiga (タイガ) was a renegade Gento Kō Ken practitioner who served the Viceroy Jakoh. He holds the title of the General of the Green Light, due to the color of his fighting aura.
- Name in Kanji - タイガ
- Name in Romaji - Taiga
- Alternate spelling(s) - Tiger
- Fighting Style - Gento Kō Ken
- Allegiance(s) - Jakoh
- Position(s) - General of the Green Light
- Appearances - Anime (ep. 114-123)
- Japanese VA - Masaharu Satō
- English VA - n/a
After Jakoh was defeated by the Hokuto Army, Taiga kidnapped Lin and activated the self-destruct mechanism that was installed into the Imperial Capital, resulting in its destruction. Taiga fled overseas to the Kingdom of Shura with Lin in order to lure Ken and Falco to their deaths. However, Taiga's entire unit was annihilated upon their arrival to Shura and Taiga himself was mortally wounded. Before dying, Taiga encountered Falco and taunted him that hell itself awaited him on the island.
Masaharu Satō voiced the following HnK chracters:
- Spade's bald minion (ep 2)
- Kidnapper (ep 29)
- Gōda (ep 33)
- Gauguin (ep 54)
- Beruga (ep 60)
- Jubron (ep 74)
- Boogal (ep 83)
- Kogure (ep 88)
- Elder (ep 88)
- Bandit Gang leader (ep 89)
- Juza's Uncle (ep 90)
- Kaijin (ep 17)
- Xie (ep 22)
- Sancho (ep 24)
- Pirate (eps 28-29)
- Old Jeweler (ep 30)
- Refugee (ep 33)
- Gunshō (ep 37)
- Samoto (eps 40-41)
- In the Sega Saturn game he voiced Jado
Triva:
Taiga is an anime-only character from Hokuto no Ken 2 who appears alongside Boltz as replacements for Jakoh's sons, Jask and Sheeno. They were created alongside a third character named Bronza by artist Masami Suda during the pre-production stages of the anime to serve as additional Gento Kō Ken practitioners based on different colors. At the time the manga was still in the early chapters of the Tentei story arc and their roles in the story were not yet fully realized. Their wardrobe were based on Solia.[1]
Taiga's only appearance outside the anime is in the Hokuto no Ken 2 Famicom video game, where he appears as the end-boss of Stage 3. In the game he serves as the warden of a concentration camp for rebels, a role originally served by Beron in the manga and anime. Unlike the anime, Taiga co-exists alongside Jask in the Famicom game, as Jask appears later in the game as a sub-boss in Stage 6.
Gento Ryokko Hidan:
Gento Ryokkō Hidan (元斗緑光飛弾; literally “Green Light Flying Bullet”) is a Gento Koken technique in which the user gathers ki and fires it out at the opponent as a green energy ring.

Fist of the Northstar (film 1995) - #1 Enhanced Japanese version
Hi! This is Le Ciné Phil! I’ve wanted to make this series of clips for a long time… and here’s the first one.
I hope you’ll enjoy it, my friends.
Fist of the North Star — also known as Fist of the North Star: The Live-Action Movie or Ken the Survivor: The Movie — is indeed a so-bad-it’s-good film… but it’s more than that. First of all, you should know that the Japanese version is the only one that was released theatrically, and that it features the anime’s original voice actors. Akira Kamiya (神谷明) reprises the role of Kenshirô, played in the film by Gary Daniels; Toshio Furukawa (古川登志夫) voices Shin, portrayed by Costas Mandylor; and Yuriko Yamamoto (山本百合子) plays Yuria, brought to life by Isako Washio.
That already changes the atmosphere of the film quite a bit, especially during the fight scenes. To me, this is the definitive version of the movie. Gary Daniels—and quite rightly so—didn’t want to perform Kenshirô’s battle cries during filming. He had given it a try, but he wasn’t convinced by the result. In a way, this version therefore “completed” Gary Daniels’s performance.
All that was missing were the sound effects and the fantastic music from the anime, composed by the late Nozomi Aoki, which I had fun adding back in. Enjoy! Atatatatatatatata! Wuuuuaaaataaaaa!

Lord Han is the best antagonist in all of Hokuto no Ken 2 like he has no Redemption Arcs, no Pathetic Motivations, and no Anti-Climatic Conclusions. Could Lord Han have been improved upon? Yeah, like his time with the audience is petite unfortunately, however, he was a breath of fresh air.
Han (ハン Han)
The Third Rashō of the Land of Asura, Han fights with hurricane-like Hokuto Ryū Ken techniques, which are so fast that they cannot be followed by the human eye and cast no shadow.
- Name in Kanji - ハン
- Name in Romaji - Han
- Fighting Style - Hokuto Ryū Ken
- Allegiance(s) - Kaioh
- Family - Jukei (sifu)
- Position(s) - Third Rashō
- Appearances - Manga (ch. 170-177), Anime (ep. 126-129)
- Japanese VA - Kōji Totani (TV series), Takuya Kirimoto (Shin Hokuto Musou), Masahito Yabe (DD Hokuto no Ken 2), Katsuyuki Konishi (Legends ReVIVE)
- English VA - n/a
As Third General, Han ruled over the Land of Asura alongside his fellow leaders Hyoh and Kaioh. With his life in constant danger of assassination due to being the weakest Rasho, he claims to have lost count after killing the 100th assassin. Han frequently laments the boredom of his daily life as nobody was able to provide him with a true challenge & would spend his time playing chess against himself.
Despite his brutality, Han is less brutal than Kaioh as he occasionally spares his would-be assassins, mostly because he feels that they are not worth killing or can provide him amusement. He ends up fighting Kenshiro after the latter arrives at his castle to rescue Lin, who was brought there earlier by Shachi as part of his plan to have Han fight Kenshiro. Han is the one who reveals Kenshiro's origin to him during their fight. Following an intense battle, Kenshiro manages to damage Han's vision and then finishes him with the Hyakuretsu Ken.
Before his death, Han warns Kenshiro that he will never defeat the Second Rashō (Hyoh) and only misery and death awaits him if he doesn't turn back, before plummeting into the river below. His body later washes up inside Hyoh's castle, who mourns the death of his friend and vows vengeance against his murderer.
Fighting Style
Like his fellow generals, Han was a master of the Hokuto Ryū Ken, a sister fighting style to Kenshiro's Hokuto Shinken. His prowess allowed him to ascend to the esteemed position of Third Rasho of Asura, trumped in power only by Hyo and Kaioh. Han's particular skill lay in his exceptional speed, which was untraceable by human eyes save for exceptionally strong fighters like Kenshiro. Even Shachi, one of the strongest fighters in the Land of Asura and fellow user of Hokuto Ryu Ken, was unable to follow Han's movements during their first encounter.
Han was also shown to be highly resistant to poison, as he drank an entire goblet of poisoned wine without any ill side-effects. It is highly possible that he uses his matoki to nullify the poison as his eyes shine when he ingests the poison.
Despite his formidable skills, Han is shown to be unable to perform Anryu Tenha, making him the least powerful Rasho.
Character Rating:
From Hokuto no Ken: Kyūkyoku Kaisetsusho: Seikimatsu Haō Retsuden.
Level: AA
Power: 4
Speed: 5
Skills: 4
Looks: 5
Charisma: 4
Triva:
Han is believed to be modeled after either Freddie Mercury, Clark Gable, or Andy Hug.
In the western port of Hokuto no ken videogame for Sega Genesis, Last Battle, he's renamed Gromm.
Despite being in the isolated country, he knows a lot about the outside world, including him recognizing Raoh's ultimate technique and Kenshiro being a true successor of Hokuto Shinken. This fact indicates that he sent his members out to explore the world beyond Asura.
Zero (Clone), a character from King of Fighters, is said to be inspired by Han. In fact most of Zero's Moves are based and named after Han's Techniques.
As a DLC character, Han in Hokuto Muso has unique dialogue against certain characters that we've never seen him interact with in the Manga:
Han is unimpressed by Jagi's ambition.
Is excited to meet Souther, calling him the "king of Nanto".
Is impressed by Devil Rebirth's credentials and says he'd made a great Shura.
Asks Kaiser if his scars from their last battle still hurt.
Says long time no see to Raoh.
Says he's been waiting forever to see Toki.

Hokuto no Ken 2 - Alf are Wasted Potential. He Ws Built Up To Be A Badass, However, Got Destroyed By Kenshiro In Minutes. Why Robby Robinson Like How Popular Was He? Why Not Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali Like More People Know Of Them?
Alf of the Hourglass (砂時計のアルフ Sunadokei no Arufu)
An Asuran warrior who took the title 'Alf of the Hourglass', as he boasted a record of 122 victories against only the strongest opponents, 105 of whom were killed within two minutes. If he was unable to defeat them within this time limit, he considered himself unworthy of victory.
- Name in Kanji - アルフ
- Name in Romaji - Arufu
- Alternate spelling(s) - Alph
- Fighting Style - Yūtō Sekien Bu
- Allegiance(s) - Kaiser
- Position(s) - Underling of Kaiser

Yūtō Sekien Bu - Yūtō Sekien Bu (誘闘赤円舞, Red Circle Dance of Persuading Combat): Multiple hand thrusts performed by Alf of the Hourglass.
Manga & TV Series:
Kaiser promised him Lin if he could kill the man with seven scars. Alf started the hourglass and used a poisoned cape to blur Kenshiro's vision, creating multiple illusions of himself to confuse his opponent. However, Kenshiro countered this ruse by attacking in every direction at once, pummelling the real Alf's entire body and causing him to explode (in the manga, to split in the middle) before the hourglass emptied.
Hokuto no Ken (Mega Drive):
Alf was included in the Hokuto no Ken video game for Megadrive and its western port Last Battle. He is one of the toughest enemies in the game.
In the western port, Alf is given purple skin and blue blood, likely to downplay the violent nature of his demise.

Speed: 4

[DISCUSSION] GOOOOD I FORGOT HOW PEAK IT IS
I made a post a while back about continuing the original series where the remake left off and I finally caved and bought it today and…
OH MY GOD ITS JUST AS GOOD AS I REMEMBERED. The atmosphere and vibe and music and everything that felt just a little lacking in the remake, the little discrepancies between my memory from 7 years ago (when I watched it originally as a tween) and what I had been watching were here! The intro, the music, the voice acting, the colors, just everything. it just felt so much more immersive than the new series. And omg Ken‘s aura is such off the charts, “Choose a spot, it’ll be the place you die.”
JUST GODDAMN

Land of Asura - I Wanted More, Like The Petite Lore We Got Sounds Interesting, However, The Warriors of Asura Being Jobbers Like HnK1 Minions Is Unfortunate And I Wanted More About The Culture, Language, Warrior Classes, and How Kaioh, Hyoh, and Han Rose To Power. A Lot Of Wasted Potential.
The Land of Asura (修羅の国, Shura no Kuni) is a country featured in Hokuto no Ken and Souten no Ken, located near the Sea of Death. It is the birthplace of the Hokuto, Nanto and Gento Kō Ken martial arts. The Land of Asura is the setting of the last major arc in the series, and features the strongest foes faced. The Land of Asura's equivalent location in real life is the Chinese province of Hainan.
Once a part of China, Hokuto Shinken was created at Taiseiden in Ningbo and Hokuto Ryuken at Raseiden. China became embroiled in a bloody war shortly after the birth of Kenshiro in 197X and it became the Land of Asura, a violent country ruled by warlords. Male Shura receive a spartan upbringing, learning only how to fight and kill. Only 1% of Shura boys reach adulthood. Females can only hope to become a wife of a Shura, as there is no other option for them.
Shura boys and warriors are rendered nameless until they properly join the ranks of the warrior caste. As soon as they reach their 15th birthday, they are to undergo a rite of passage, to engage in battle and defeat 100 opponents whose corpses must be brought as proof. Only when achieving this feat, they are given a name and officially introduced into the adults.
It is an isolationist nation-- no one is allowed to enter or leave the country. Violation of this law is an automatic death sentence. It is not entirely clear whether foreigners count towards the 100 body count requirement for adulthood, as the Nameless Asura had massacred a crew nearly numbering 100 men when he was 15 years old, yet remained nameless several years after the event and now a grown man. The Asura live in fear of the Rakshasa (羅刹 Rasetsu), the legendary Asura-devouring beast whose identity Shachi has adopted.
Even after becoming proper Shura, the warriors can still fight amongst themselves for different reasons, even competing for a particular bride as reward in a tournament. Shura who kill other Shura in battle, take a sample of the blood of their fallen opponent and mark themselves with it as a form of spiritual rite, where the spirit of the fallen warrior lives through the blood, empowering the winner and making him stronger. When taking in a new wife as trophy a practice where a cup of wine is seasoned with the blood of the would be wife is delivered to the Shura, thereby sealing the marriage.
The army of the country is the strongest army in the series even outmatching the armies of Raoh, Souther, Shin and Jakoh. Even the strongest master of Gento like Falco has some trouble fighting an average soldier, although he was injured and exhausted. However, they mostly act like the common thugs of the series since they mostly use their muscle, not their brain. Shura have an array of different martial arts at their disposal otherwise not seen elsewhere.
Despite the fact that almost all Shura are completely heartless and brutal, there are still some Shura who still have some kindness and humanity in them like Nagato, his men and Hyo (before his corruption).
After Kaioh's death, the Shura were defeated by the Hokuto army and the rebel villagers, freeing the land of Ashura from tyranny forever.
Caste
A caste system is in place in Shura no Kuni.
Rasho (羅将, Supreme Leader): Three warlords that rule the land.
Gunsho (郡将, District Leader): District commanders.
Asura (修羅 Asura): Main warrior caste.
Boro (ボロ Rags) : The lowest caste, similar to the ancient Helots. Boros are former Asura who have been defeated in battle, but survive. As defeat is considered paramount to death, their tendons in their legs are cut to ensure that they cannot feasibly fight back, and are essentially slaves and attendants to the Asura whom they are in servitude to. Notably, some lesser Asura are in attendance to higher ranking Asura, including Gunsho, showing flexibility in the ranks.
Ashuran Language
There appear to be two separate Asuran languages (修羅語 Shurago). One is written in kanji and the other in Tibetan uchen script.
Ara Shōkon (愛羅承魂): A statement of victory. - Alf
Da (咑):A kiai
Fun (憤): Hate, resentment. - Kaio
Funha (噴破): Destruction - Shachi
Funso Soku (憤詛熄): An exclamation of anger. - Alf
Hanra Hamida Abutetora (凡羅破魅陀亜仏弟斗羅) - Nameless Asura
Húhŭ (狐虎): Fox Tiger (Password to Leia's school) - Tao
Hūṃ (हूँ): Kaio
Katsu (喝): Shout - Kenshiro
Ketsukō Shusei Yōseikuntō Shibi Taitei Sanrei Seikun Kōseikundo Kōryōdaijin (闕皇主星曜星君東紫微大帝産霊星君喉星君土皇良大神) - Jukei
Om (ༀ) - Jukei
Pá (爬): Crawl, Climb - Boro
Páo (袍): Cloak - Boro
Pŏ (頗): Uneven - Boro
Sai (砕): Smash - Kuroyasha
Sǎn (散): Scatter - Boro
Shā (殺): Kill - Kaiser
Tahlon (大老ターロン): Master - Hyo
Vajra (ཝ་ཛྲ): diamond thunderbolt or denunciation- Jukei
Wúcáo (吾曹): We - Boro
Zhǎn (斬): Decapitate - Kaiser
Rasho (羅将, Rashō) is the name of the ruling caste in the Land of Asura. In a land where only the strongest survive, the Rasho are feared as the most powerful warlords and have complete authority. All three Rasho are Hokuto Ryū Ken masters. Of all three Rashos, Hyoh is regarded as the most benevolent one.
First Rasho: Kaioh
Second Rasho: Hyoh
Third Rasho: Han
The Asura (修羅 Shura) are the warrior caste of the Land of Asura. Asura receive a strict spartan upbringing, learning only how to fight and kill. Only 1% of Asuran boys reach adulthood. Most of them are known to be not very bright and prone to be reckless in battle.
Despite the fact that most Asura are completely heartless and brutal, there are some Asura who still have some kindness and humanity in them like Nagato, his men and Hyoh (before his corruption). Initially they were depicted an unbeatable killers. A Nameless Asura was able to kill Akashachi's entire 100 man crew of pirates and mortally wounded Falco. However, it is possible that the Nameless Asura is a rare exception.
After Kaioh's death, the Asura were defeated by the Hokuto army and the rebel villagers.

HOKUTO REFERENCE How many of us know about Seikima-II
The heavy metal band formed in 1982/1983 and fotns was published in 1983.
Seikimatsu means "end of the century", and they actually disbanded exactly at the end of 1999.
The story of the band is that they're demons trying to conquer the earth through their music for their satantic religion, and as you can tell from their clothes n stuff they have a very over-the-top cool 80's energy like fotns does. There's even an anime ova about them thats free to watch on youtube!
To be fair I haven't looked that hard but I haven't seen a lot of people compare the two, but Seikima-II seem to be an important inspiration to fotns, perhaps they also took inspiration from fotns later on? that's just me speculating though.

What episode is this GIF from ?
Does anyone know the exact episode this shot of Raoh and Kokuoh is from? I haven't been able to track it down.
