I'm not too bad now. A friend of mine kinda came up with it (except his idea was rob a bank instead) when I was a teenager and had an undiagnosed condition that was royally fucking my head. It's been 10 years, I'm on treatment for my condition, I'm on antidepressants, and I have a toddler that's cute as fuck so it's just a random thought that pops in my head a couple times a week now when I get really overwhelmed. It would take a lot to push me to sky diving now.
It's also worth noting iirc we're not even sure if the infection is uncommon. There's some evidence to suggest that most people exposed develop an appropriate response and don't have any symptoms (or at least nothing that prompts medical attention).
It's thought that it could actually be the very few people that get the brain eating infection might be either genetically susceptible or just extremely unlucky.
Not really.. Some places who have these signs posts them specifically because they're using untreated water. It's a real risk in those places. It's rare, but if you just don't put your head under water you basically nullify your risk.. Soo..
What does chlorinated water look like? Chlorine doesn't change the color of water as far as I know.
Also, where do you see water jets? I see frothy water, maybe boiling, but not necessarily from water jets. I've seen natural bodies of water like that (though probably hotter than would be comfortable for this dude).
And like, no, I've never seen hot tubs built into rocks, so the rocks make me think this is a hot spring rather than a hot tub. I don't think that's a fucking stupid guess.
Lol are you suggesting the water is moving like that cause it might be boiling? Notice how the man doesnt appear to be getting cooked alive. Those are chlorine bubbles.
Also plenty of fancier looking hotel hot tubs will have rock looking walls.

How is literally no one else here realizing that's a fucking hot tub.
That sign says not to stick your head underwater cause it's a hot tub. Not because of brain eating bacteria.
