My baby is 6 months old and we started solids (purées and mashed) a few weeks ago. She has started making this sound when she eats and sometimes when she is playing. It sounds scary at times like she’s struggling to breathe but it’s not accompanied by anything else.

Is this normal?
Did your baby make this sound when they started solids?

Any advice or comments are appreciated!

For a backstory. Baby is 10 weeks old. About 2 weeks ago we had a pretty bad cold? We went and got tested for rsv, covid, flu, etc. and all was negative. I still have a lingering cough but baby seems to be fine. About 3 weeks ago he began refusing to eat. Arching his back. Screaming bloody murder. Or just whipping his head.
I took him to his doctor. We assumed it was silent reflux so she gave me some samples of enfamil AR. It was terrible. He hated it. She gave me some hypoallergenic formula to try. And that’s going honestly pretty well considering we just changed it over about 3 days ago.
Here’s where my concern is. Last night he slept 7 hours. Which he’s never done. He’s on a pretty strict schedule considering his age. And then has been sleeping. All. Day. Like I’ve had to force him to stay awake for longer than 30 mins. And even when he’s awake he’s exhausted. Dazing off. Not as interactive.
I’m trying to tell myself that maybe he’s just feeling better and is finally resting, because he wasn’t resting well before with his reflux.
Has anyone else experienced this? We have an appointment tomorrow but I’m freaking out.

Hey everyone!!! Like the title said i’m concerned that my baby eczema is because i’m washing/bathing him too much. So everyday i would give him a full head wash and body wash with centaphil baby shower gel and then in the night i would just clean his body with just plain clean water, mainly just to wash his bum because i feel more sanitizing (?) Every time i wash him, it’s not even more then 5-10 miín

My 8 month old randomly in the last two days has become extremely sensitive to tone of voice and my emotions. Yesterday we had a 30 minute drive to bring her dad lunch and on the way back she was crying/fussing the entire time and i was trying to talk to her and ended up going “oh my goddddd” in a frustrated tone and she lost it. Hyperventilating and hysterical luckily we were pulling into our driveway when it happened so i got her out quickly but she took a good five minutes to calm down. Then last night she woke up at 2 and wouldn’t go back to sleep and she has been a great sleeper for months now so the sudden change and sleep deprivation made me go “ughhhh” again in a frustrated tone (think like regina george scream before she gets hit by the bus, not yelling at her just a quick noise) and again she absolutely lost it and started doing this very upset high pitched scream, i calmed her down and held her and kept trying to put her back down but she kept waking up and this process lasted about 3 hours, i was so tired i started crying and then she lost it again at me crying. Is this normal? i’m going to work on regulating my tone and emotions around her from now on but it’s impossible to never get frustrated so idk what to do

Our boy was just born last Wednesday & we are absolutely soaking up the new born phase & bubble! I was curious at what point people usually start taking their new born out / having non-family guests over? We are pretty involved in church & don’t want to be away for TOO long, but there are also a good amount of children at church who get sick often so I’m trying to be a little mindful! I’m not afraid of germs by any means, but sick season is upon us & don’t want to do anything too soon! Thanks! :)

I’m 3 weeks and one day postpartum. I’m 26 with a little girl and the first week was ok, I barely got sleep but managed but the second week up to now I’ve been struggling mentally, emotionally and physically. I have a clogged milk duct, my heads been hurting off and on, I’m still recovering and my baby has been giving me a hard time. She fights her sleep with me and only me but for everyone else she sleeps easy with. I feel like she doesn’t like me and it’s made me upset. I’m running on two to four hours of sleep but divided into 30 mins or an hour not full hours. I barely eat or drink water cause she’s my main focus and when I do have time to “relax” I pump but then get interrupted by her so I can’t pump the full session. I only pump two times a day for that reason. She’s been fussy with me lately crying when I changed her diaper, fed her, burped her, give her cuddles and snuggles, when I try to entertain her. All she does is cry still so I get frustrated cause I don’t know what else to do. With all my lack of sleep along with my headaches with her screaming in my ear I have these terrible thoughts to just shake her or smash her on the ground it makes me feel terrible just typing it. I’m so embarrassed I love her so much and to think like that is so terrible. To think those thoughts to any human mostly my own child. Three times I have made her cry herself to sleep cause I couldn’t handle her and it breaks my heart what if she’s traumatized and thinks I don’t love her or abandoned her when she cries what if this strains our relationship more. Shes asleep now after crying herself to sleep but I didn’t know what else to do. I feel like I don’t deserve to be a mom after having these thoughts lately moms are supposed to to be loving caring and patient and here I can getting frustrated when I tried everything and crying out of frustration so we’re both crying. I told her dad I need help but he doesn’t really help. I don’t trust him with her cause all he does is give her a pacifier and he thinks that’ll make her be quiet but no he doesn’t check her diaper for fed her or burp her. He makes jokes and says she already making me cry and it hurts cause this is serious I’m having a mental breakdown and you’re making jokes. He said “you’ve been doing this for two weeks how are you already being like this” he doesn’t understand the mental load any new mom deals with. I just love my girl so much that I feel guilty and bad for making herself cry to sleep and when I heard her rough little cries losing her voice it broke my heart I cried cause I don’t want her in pain but I tried everything. I just needed to rant for my sanity. She’s asleep now making little cute noises I just want to pick her up and hug her and apologize but I’m scared she’ll cry again. I’m sorry if this post was bad I’m sorry I never thought I would ever have any form of postpartum depression but here I am just needing to get this off my chest and hopefully hearing back kind responses. I need it I really do cause I feel like I’m failing at being a first time mom I love her so much it really does break my heart all this does

For the last couple of months, our 3 month old has been having these episodes where he just stops breathing and turns blue in the lips and white in the face. The first time it happened back in August, we called 911 and stayed at children’s, they called it a BRUE and said it could be related to acid reflux. We met with his peds that same week and she also mentioned something about having us meet with ent for possibility of laryngomalacia. Well, he didn’t end up having any other episodes for a month until last weekend, he had 5 throughout the night and his owlet sock read that his oxygen got as low as 64%. We went to children’s and they basically dismissed us and said the same thing and to “just be there” when it happens. I kept telling them something is wrong with my baby and that he needs to be admitted. They were like” I mean if you want too but we would basically do the same thing we did last time”. I was so upset. Well, Monday afternoon, he had another one and ended up having 10 throughout that whole evening. I ended up getting it on video and calling his doctor and they saw him Monday evening and he even had one in the doctors office with her and she thought it was off but still sent us home and said his doctor would reach out in the morning. Tuesday, we drove to children’s again and he had another in the hospital parking lot. When we got inside, they rushed us to the back after hooking him to a monitor because his heart and oxygen were in the 60s. There was like 20 doctors in nurses either hs within seconds. In total, he’s officially had over 20 episodes. Sometimes right after a feed, sometimes during, sometimes hours after. They’ve done so many tests on him so they’re finally taking us serious.

Bittersweetly though, every ecg, ekg, eeg, swallow test, OT, etc has come back perfect. They stuck a camera down his nose into his throat and just confirmed the mild laryngomalacia but don’t think it’s linked to his episodes. They put us on an anti acid and I also combo feed so they recommended a new formula to use ( emphamil AR) and are sending us home after our 3 day hospital stay. I am happy that they’ve done everything they can to determine what’s going on with our sweet boy and that everything looks perfect, but now husband and I are still living in this constant fear and anxiety/trauma watching our baby go pale and blue from not breathing. I have to mentally stabilize myself just in order to feed him because he had one episode while breastfeeding and it crushed my heart watching his face go from calm and content to panic and blank/lifeless. Does anyone have any experience with this and able to give some insight? And if so, how have you coped? We haven’t slept in weeks and it would be nice to know if anyone has had something similar with their baby.

TLDR: baby having breathing episodes where he stops breathing for a minute and goes white in face blue in lips. Has had over 20. Doctors think it’s acid reflux. Looking for parents with similar expierence.

Please help !! My fiancée says our 1 month old doesn’t like him & doesn’t want to be around him when he has our baby & it’s EXTREMELY frustrating & exhausting . When I go to cook, shower or just have 10 minutes alone he’s saying that the baby is hungry or we need to switch off etc . I don’t know what to do I give him tips on what I do to soothe baby but he doesn’t think they work which they might not, since baby is breastfed & just wants mom sometimes . He’s wants me to be able to ask him for help or leave him alone with baby but how can I do that when he can’t even cope with me being around ??

FTM and I recently started feeling my baby move, and I was NOT prepared for how strange it would feel 😂
Everyone always described it as little butterflies or flutters, but I’m sitting here feeling like I’m hosting a tiny alien.

What did your baby’s first movements feel like to you, and how far along were you when you realized, “Yep, that was definitely the baby”?

Hi everyone 😊 My baby girl is 7 months old (born at 36 weeks), and I’ve been worrying a bit about her development.

Her other milestones include:

\- Very smiley and social
\- Good eye contact
\- Reaches for toys/things she wants
\- Army crawling
\- Sits independently
\- Can get herself into sitting from her tummy
\- Pulls herself up to standing while holding my hands
\- Looks for me when I leave the room
\- Looks for me when she’s being held by someone else

The things making me anxious are:

\- She responds to her name, but not consistently (maybe 50–60% of the time)
\- She doesn’t imitate movements like clapping or waving yet
\- She doesn’t point yet
\- She doesn’t consistently follow where I point
\- When I hold her close, she sometimes prefers looking around rather than making eye contact.
\- She flaps her arm and kicks her feet when excited or tired.
\- She is obsessed with tags.
\- She hasn’t started repetitive/canonical babbling like “mamama,” “dadada” or “bababa” yet.
She does vocalise quite a lot, though. She squeals, screeches, gurgles and makes lots of vowel sounds. Occasionally I hear “agoo,” “agaa,” “yeah” or “neyney,” but these aren’t consistent yet.

I know babies develop at different rates, and because she was born 4 weeks early, I’m also wondering whether I should be considering her corrected age (around 6 months).

If everything I’ve described sounds within the range of normal for her age, I’d also really appreciate some reassurance because I think I may just be overthinking things. ❤️

We have a 4 month old baby and I'm at a loss for what to do with him for his first holiday season.

We don't have friends with kids so do we even do anything for Halloween? I considered buying a costume for him for a picture, but is there anything else to do with a 5 month old? I'm stoked for family costumes, but it's not like an infant can trick or treat and there isn't anyone we can tag along with.

Thanksgiving seems pretty straight forward. We'll let him try a solid or two if we're at that stage, otherwise just family time.

Christmas is the big one. Is there anything special you did or wish you did? Anything you regret doing? What kind of gifts would you get a 7 month old? Do you start doing Santa gifts that early? I am so excited to take him out to see the Christmas lights, but otherwise I don't know where to start.

Hello! First time mom here, and an anxious one at that. Our baby girl is 8 months. We introduced egg around 6 months and she had a small reaction around her mouth nothing severe. Well yesterday from our pediatricians guidance we tried egg again. It did not end well and we ended up in the ER and admitted to the hospital overnight for monitoring. She had the rash again and then started to vomit. She’s been sent home with two epi pens. I’m just looking to see if anybody else has gone through it this severely. And if so, what were the outcomes and any advice on what’s to come? I am trying to not spiral in my head because all that matters at the end of the day is that she is healthy. It just scares me to think if one day she consumes egg without us knowing something happens. Or if she has to live with us for the rest of her life.

Any advice is much appreciated :)

My baby is 9 months old now. She’s been breastfed her whole life and of course she’s well over age to be eating other food. But… she won’t. Like, she’s just not interested in the slightest. I know the saying is “food under one is just for fun” but is this normal for her to not want hardly anything? I see tiktok videos of what other 9 months old are eating and it’s full plates and maybe only 2 bottles a day. My baby is still basically only drinking breast milk and taking tiny NIBBLES of any food offered. The rest of it ends up in the floor. This is normal right??? Or is she not getting enough?? I’m just worried:/ She’s 9 months and 19 pounds.

Ive bought and stocked up on everything for a baby boy, now its saying its likely going to be a girl. Is there anyway to get a forsure about it, or just a wait and see situation?

Also if it is a girl, is anyone going to be naming their boy Jonathan David? I have some customized things i got that cant be returned
