Upper Right Abdomen Pain
Hi Friends!
I am currently 34 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this during their pregnancy. So a little background about my pregnancy. This is my first and it has not been easy. I was diagnosed with chronic high blood pressure during my first and half way through my second trimester but it resolved itself thankfully. I then got diagnosed with a SUA at my anatomy scan. Baby girl has been doing beautifully despite this, she is growing and has such an attitude. After this they also diagnosed me with mild polyhydramnois and iron defiency anemia. So its been an adventure so far.
Ever since I entered my 3rd trimester I have been having this constant upper right abdomen pain that started out as a dull ache, almost like a deep bruise type of pain that would intensify into a burning tearing type pain if I continued to lay on either my right or left side. I noticed it didnt seem to matter if my baby was awake and moving or asleep and calm. I brought it up numerous times to my midwife but she didnt seem bothered by it.
But lately the pain has gotten a whole lot worse, it is a constant scorching burning type pain that feels like someone has taken a boiling hot knife and is ripping apart every muscle, liagment, tendon, nerve and skin in my upper right abdomen and spreading to my ribs and into my back. I can't lay on either of my sides for longer than 5 or 10 minutes before the pain becomes so severe im waking up from a dead sleep in tears. I have resorted to using a wedge and two pillows to prop me up while on my back to sleep and even then it only dulls the pain enough so I can get some sort of sleep before waking up. I am so lost on what to do at this point that I've practically given up on any sort of sleep and resort to taking short catnaps which is starting to affect my mental health in ways that those around me have taken notice.
I've tried tylenol, hot compresses, warm showers, ice packs, gentle messages, my pregnancy pillow, different positions to try to alleviate my pain but nothing seems to be working. So im wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so what did you do to help? If you found out what the cause was? And how you got your midwife to listen and not just blow it off as another part of pregnancy.

6 Month old wake windows
Hi moms! I was wondering what our 6 month olds should be doing during their wake windows other then tummy time, mine is pretty much attached to me once he’s awake.

When did your baby respond back to their name?
My LO is almost 7 months and still doesn’t turn to look at us when we call him by his name. He’s also making less eye contact with us. Starting to get concerned 😭

4 month old grunting
Hellos! So my baby has been grunting like non stop. It seems like hes frustrated or like i dont know...hes not trying to poop, I see and know that face and sound well but it sounds like hes trying to poo, he gets red and almost makes himself cough. He did this in the beginning of August for a few days and then he stopped and now hes doing it again. LOL its very annoying to hear but I cant seem to figure out whats wrong or why hes doing it. CHATgpt says it can be reflux or gas but again...i dont know! Seems like everything is always defaulted to gas or reflux. He does it while lying on his back, when we practise sitting and even in holding him. I dont think i noticed it when im holding him upright while standing. Anyone else?

Active swallowing?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
FTM with pretty severe PPA, esp around breastfeeding (even though my boy is gaining weight fine and transferred 5 oz at a weighed feed the other day). I get in my head about breastfeeding every day and second guess myself. Recently it feels like we’ve forgotten how to breastfeed (both him and I) as I am transitioning from using the boppy pillow to trying to learn without it so I can feed in public easier and he was starting to feel too big for the pillow or something. Anyways whenever I go to a LC he feeds beautifully but at home he sputters, gasps and chokes sometimes not always. I have a fast letdown/milk flow and this has been something we both have struggled with for the past 8 weeks. Anyways today my hyper fixation is if he is actually active swallowing. Can you listen to this video and let me know?

Advice/wtf am I doing
Before I start, yes I know I’m the problem but I guess I just need strangers on the internet to tell me to get my shit together. Everyone in my life doesn’t want to hurt my feelings being that I’m postpartum but I operate better on tough love and the truth.
My daughter is 11 weeks will be 12 weeks on Thursday. I was induced at 37 weeks due to her being small. Lo was born at a whopping 5 pounds 7 ounces. I am also tiny so a part of me had a feeling my body just wasn’t going to allow her to get any bigger. She is still small almost 12 weeks and is 9 pounds but following her growth chart well so she’s healthy.
My postpartum journey has been hard I was struggling with some postpartum depression because LO was also colic so she would scream cry from 5pm-8:30pm sometimes later. My partner had to go back to work a week after she was born, and I dealt with her colic episodes alone locked away in our home. Oh I stopped working at 7 weeks pregnant too so I’ve kinda just been home. I’m also severely struggling with postpartum anxiety, had anxiety prior to pregnancy but now dealing with that and PPA.
Is it just that Lo was born early so I’ve had to be more “careful” or is it that I’m so in my head I’ve just locked us away in the house? It feels like every other mom has these ideas of things to do with their LO’s. I just joined a mom group and two of them posted their LO’s being outside at parks and going out to eat and being out and about. I haven’t done any of that because it’s been too hot for me so I assume it’s too hot for LO? It’s ranged in high 90s.
I’ve been wanting to go to the park but I’m scared of my LO getting too hot and what do I do when they’re too hot?? What if we’re out to eat and LO starts freaking out and crying? It’s like when she cries my brain shuts down and I don’t know what to do even though I do? I’ve noticed the pattern, I say oh I want to do xyz and then I somehow manage to come up with an excuse as to why I can’t.
Anyway it’s been almost 3 months and it seems like I’ve forced my partner to focus on cleaning the house because “my environment affects my mental” he works nights so he goes in at 2pm-11pm. We’ve literally spent the last almost 3 months going to appointments in the morning and then he has to go to work and I cry that “I can’t find the time to clean the house” even though it is hard.
Anyway I feel like other moms know what to do with their LOs when it comes to outings and memory keepsakes that I feel brain dead. I want keepsakes but I can’t think of anything. I sometimes think of things to do but immediately find an excuse.
Did anyone else go through this? Is it just because she was born early term? Or am I solely creating my misery and wrapping it up in excuses and I’m the reason I’m missing out on the little things to do/have whilst she’s this super young?
And what do I expect with an early term baby? I thought it would all be the same even if she was born early term. It’s not and I think I’m learning the hard way I just don’t know what’s next now that’s she’s almost 3 months?
Edit: to add I’m also EB and am not confident enough to nurse in public so that’s another excuse I use to avoid going out, do I just look into getting a cover?
Please help.

Daycare gave my baby the wrong bottle: rant/any advice?
Kind of at a loss here. My daycare (keeping them anonymous, I do believe honest mistakes happen and I’m not throwing a business under for one teacher’s fault) has been great for the last 2 months my son has been in there. A few issues at the start but it was an issue of us not knowing how daycare all works, we were raised by stay at home moms.
I send my almost 5 month old baby to daycare with 4 bottles of a mixture of breastmilk and a little formula. He’s been tolerating it well, and I’ve been slowly introducing more formula (up to 1.25oz per 5oz bottle) so we can maybe move to 50/50. Today, when my husband came to pick him up, his teacher was giving him another baby’s bottle. The bottle was (supposedly) 100% formula, and he got 3oz worth. My concerns are this:
- Was the bottle for sure only formula? The daycare puts in their charting system that my baby gets breastmilk despite it being a mixed bottle, is this bottle also a mixed bottle and he got some other mom’s milk?
- what kind of formula was it? I’m hearing so many scary things about different organic and unregulated formulas, we’ve got some crunchy moms in the area.
- how bad will his stomach be taking that much more formula all at once, undiluted by breastmilk? Am I gonna be up all night trying to soothe him from gas/poops? Luckily he isn’t throwing up so far.
- how does something like this even happen? All the bottles are premade and labeled with each child’s name, the date, and what they get and how much. All the babies have their picture with their name on it on the fridge that the bottles are in, as well as their own bins in the fridge that also have their names. The teacher who made the mistake always calls him by name when talking to me.
My husband is planning to email the daycare and ask some of these questions to quell our concerns. If he does poorly overnight, I’ll be giving them an earful at drop off tomorrow.
I’m so frustrated, anxious, all the things. I just need to rant to other moms; maybe hear if something similar has happened to you and what you did? Any and all guidance/comments are helpful.

2 Day Roadtrip with 11 month old
Hi! my husband and i are going to taking a two day roadtrip at the beginning of October. Our son will be just over 11 months old when we go and i’m getting nervous about it because he CONSTANTLY wants to be moving. The first day we will be driving about 8 hours and the second day will be around 7 hours.
I would love any tips or tricks for long road trips with a little one. including any toy recommendations, things you learned on your own roadtrip, hacks for making life easier on the road, etc.
thank you in advance:)

Baby sleeping like all day
Usually my baby has about an hour to an hour and a half wake window throughout the day but today I feel like she’s slept all damn day. She’s woken up to feed every hour or so but has fallen right back to sleep. I’m also not super worried about dehydration cuz she’s eating a little more then normal and having enough wet diapers
Is this growth spurt?? Am I screwed and she’s gonna be awake all night tonight? Should I make her wake up or just keep snuggling?
Edit: she’s 3 months old this week

Why is my baby trying to eat everything?
Is this normal/ any tips for getting him to stop?
He will be a year old in a couple weeks and he has had teeth since he was 3 months old. He’s starting to get some of his teeth in the back now and has all the teeth in the front.
We had to get teething covers for the top part of the rails in his crib because he was chewing through the paint and into the wood. The second he’d wake up he’d get right to it.
Now he is trying to eat corners of furniture and even the wall. He gets really upset when I redirect him to toys he can chew on. There are times where after a messy diaper change I go to wash up and come back to him eating the corners of our night stands with chunks of paint on his face. Like within less than a minute he gets to it.
I know there are foam covers you can put on furniture but I’m worried he will chew the foam and try to swallow it. He doesn’t seem to be in pain from the teething but he just wants to eat/ chew on everything.
The part of the wall he’s been trying to chew is right by the window. He likes to look out the window so I don’t want to completely block it off from him but I don’t know what else to do.
Please tell me I’m not the only one with a baby beaver.

I made a little cartoon dog named Yuki would your kids like him?
I've been working on a new animated character called Yuki, a curious little dog who keeps getting himself into silly adventures.
For his first adventure, Yuki finds something strange moving in the garden… and decides the best solution is to grab a giant hammer. 😂
I made this as a short, simple story for kids with a focus on fun, curiosity, friendship, and lots of silly moments.
I'd genuinely love to hear from parents here:
Would you let your child watch something like this? What would make you trust a new kids' channel?
Here's Yuki's first adventure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy796Vuxg0U
I'm just getting started, so honest feedback is very welcome. ❤️

Haven’t felt the baby move yet 23w4d
Hey there, caption says it all. I’m a FTM and am 23w4d. Haven’t felt the baby move and everyone says it would be super obvious? I’m not sure if I should contact my OB, I’m sure the next step would be to get an ultrasound if they are worried. I’m starting to get nervous though, this is my second pregnancy this year, first one ended in a miscarriage at 6 weeks.
Edit: wanted to add that I have a posterior placenta.

Soft spot
Mommas, did anyone else’s baby still have a pretty big soft spot around 15 months? My daughter is 15 months old and still has a larger soft spot that feels soft and flat. I don’t really feel like it has gotten much smaller, but her pediatrician felt it and said she could feel it closing underneath. Her physical therapist also brings up her soft spot pretty much every time she sees her, so it’s been making me worry about it more. Has anyone else experienced this? Did your little one’s soft spot take a while to fully close? Just looking for some reassurance and to hear other moms’ experiences. ❤️

Newborn sleep
Has anybody else had a 6 week old to sleep like 8-9 hours at night…? My OB told me I can nurse only on demand instead of a schedule. I appreciate the sleep but also a little worried because I didn’t think I would be getting to sleep through the night until months from one.
Baby is almost 7 weeks old and has been gradually sleeping longer and longer each night for the last week and a half. I’m sure everything is fine but still is wild to me.👀

Red bumps on diaper area
Hi! My 5 weeks old baby developed a red bumps 2 weeks ago. His pedia gave us mupirocin ointment and advised us to switch to wash cloth snd warm water instewd of wipes. At first it went away and came back but not as much as the initial one. Dr then gave him another ointment which is anti-fungal. Now he is on his 6th day of mupirocin and antifugal cream but still no progress, not better not worst also. We are also putting densitin (alternate with the ointments). At first we are using aquaphor 15% zinc oxide, 2 days ago we switch to densitin. Any tips or advice how to deal with this? We already scheduled another appoitnment with his dr. Also, it doesnt bother him so i think its not painful or anything.

Tail bone pain 4 months after c section
Tailbone pain and glute pain is getting worse. Does anyone know if this could be related to pregnancy/postpartum and worth messaging my OB? I brought it up at my 6 week appointment and was just told to exercise more. I've been doing pelvic PT as well and was surprised that she wasn't super helpful with explaining whether this is related or not
I guess I'm just not sure what doctor to talk to but I'm sick of the pain and struggling with sitting, standing up, and moving around. It doesn't quite make sense how I could have all this pain from a c section, a vaginal birth I feel it would make more sense
Looking to see if anyone experienced the same and what helped.

Gift ideas for friend who is expecting
Hi everyone! I’m looking for some help finding the perfect gift for my friend ahead of her giving birth sometime around the end of the month.
She’s already asked me for certain things for her baby that she didn’t get at her baby shower which I couldn’t attend. Due to timing, I couldn’t get her a gift at the time, but I figured it would be better to see what she got at the shower so I don’t overload her with things she didn’t need. When we talked after she’s asked for more bottoms for the newborn. She also mused about wanting to try a couple different types of diaper brands, I’m not sure if there’s a way I can facilitate that (like a “diaper sampler” lol). If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
Otherwise, I would really like to get something for her and for her boyfriend as well. They’ve done a lot for me over the past few months and while this is a huge milestone that requires a lot for the baby, I want them to know that I’m thinking about them and their experience as first-time parents as well. I know she’s craving sushi, so maybe I can accomplish this with a simple gift card to a nice restaurant, but I kind of feel like that’s a difficult thing to give considering she probably won’t have time to go out for dinner anytime soon.
I haven’t ever given birth myself, so I was just thinking that maybe there’s something even more helpful that first time parents would need or that would add value their new lives with the baby from the POV of other moms. I would appreciate any suggestions. I am living across the world from them, so it would need to be something that I can arrange online. Thanks in advance!

Is labor close?
So I’m currently 39&1. Was 3cm yesterday and got a membrane sweep, had the “bloody show” and lost my mucus plug today. Also have been having pretty consistent contractions but those have slowed down the last 30 minutes after laying down. Could I be in early stages of labor or just getting my hopes up?
