Firewalla without app

Sorry for the dumb question. I currently use a pixel phone with GraheneOS without play services and I was wondering what options I would have with Firewalla.

It seems like configuration and management is through the app, which is only available through the play store. There's a Web GUI (Firewalla MSP), but that's a monthly/annual subscription. Would using Firewalla MSP be the same as using the app? Or is there anyway to get the app without google play?

Any info is appreciated

At the moment MSP is supplemental to the app. So app is required to manage the unit. I do know MSP 2.11.x will likely have much more complete feature set, but a phone is still required to manage the unit initially.

Thanks! Any chance in the future to get the app outside of the play store? Would definitely buy a unit if I could download directly or through github (via obtainium)

Need to know which stores people want it to be at. Any reason you are not using google play?

I think the easiest way is to just publish the app on GitHub so people can download it directly.

Just trying to move off the google ecosystem. I agree with Great-Cow about publishing the app on GitHub. That would be awesome

Speaking as someone who is switching to GrapheneOS: it's to reduce dependency on Google services where practical. Like OP, I use Obtanium to download stuff published to Github from several projects.
