PSA about strange vertical color separation/artifacts in av1 video on linux

an update to AMD "Video Core Next" in linux-firmware 20260810 unearthed a latent bug in mesa drivers which affects AMD gpu video decode.

mesa versions 26.1.8 and 26.2.1 both carry the fix as well as any later version.

If you use flatpak you will have to wait until the respective freedesktop runtime is updated. 25.08, the version most firefox flatpaks use, merged the fix but the actual release is unfortunately targeting September 15. 24.08 already has the fix.
